ive used them both and 1.4.0 is the better of the 2 forums (at the moment) but 2.0 is way way way faster at everything, 1.4.0 is very slow (the reason i stopped using it), the guys behind 2.0 reckon that 1.4.0 is slow because it utilizes server recources, memory Etc badly, I dunno for sure but 1.4.0 is definatly alot slower than it should be
The main speed difference you see is a combination of the newest Categories Hierarchy caching system and the fact that there are many more MODs in 1.4.0. Not to say that the other package isn't any good, it's just not as complete as 1.4.0. And the main reason for that is because of the newest CH, since many MODs that we use on 1.4.0 would not be compatible with the newest CH. Memory handling on a DB level will be virtually identical to his 2.0 as it's all the same structure, phpBB.

I think the main improvements are not down to integramod 2 but the newest release of categories hierarchy.

IM 2.0 still runs on phpBB 2.x and as such will be outdated sooner rather than later.

From what I understand the KISS portal is far more uptodate....correct me if i am wrong.
The future of this community's IM is quite stable. And the advancements that some of the dev team have brought to it make the future of the software very bright. The KISS portal for instance is a big leap forward from what I've seen. The near future is going to be a very exciting place to be, with all the new ideas and skilled people that it will bring.

it is not phpbb3. The easiest way to tell that is the file structure. If your not familiar with the file structure of phpbb3, the dead givaway is that the template system is still using .tpl files.

Interesting, I was also under the impression it was running under phpbb3. Good to know though.

I know the history behind these two sites (from what I've read), but I would like to know wether YOU guys see this being an issue if any at all?.

There's already people asking @ integramod.com for an update script that will upgrade their sites from 1.4.0 to 2.0 and I'm not sure if it's a good idea keeping up with the release of 1.4.1.

What are the differences, or are you just simply ignoring the fact that wekke is working towards 2.0.

For your information I'm intending to stay here since I find here's where the support lays and encourage others to do so as well.
