ok, ran the dos command and here is what it says

[flash=,:18r5vgt4]http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/ayashazoelle/dos.jpg[/flash:18r5vgt4]

now i go to myphpadmin and it says i am running mysql5

[flash=,:18r5vgt4]http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/ayashazoelle/phpmyadmin.jpg[/flash:18r5vgt4]

all i know, is i did the upgrade for php2.0.20 and when i try to quote i get this error

Error geting users post stat

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'g.group_id' in 'on clause'

SELECT ug.user_id, g.group_id as g_id, u.user_posts, g.group_count, g.group_count_max FROM phpbb_groups g, phpbb_users u LEFT JOIN phpbb_user_group ug ON g.group_id=ug.group_id AND ug.user_id=2 WHERE u.user_id=2 AND g.group_single_user=0 AND g.group_count_enable=1 AND g.group_moderator<>2

Line : 771
File : functions_post.php

i was told this is an error that has to do with php5, and it does not seem like my xampp will switch from 5 to 4, even though the dos window tells me i am running 4, myphpadmin says i am running 5.

i just don't know how to fix this.

From your screen shots it looks like you were running php4.

Try switching it again.

so the one that says

Welcome to phpMyAdmin
mysql 5.0.18 running on local host

is not the sql i am running?

and i have run the php-switch.bat about a dozen times, switching it.

and does the error have to do with php5?

sorry i am asking so many questions again.

The best way to see what version of php is running look at your xampp menu in the upper left corner.

Cleo, have just checked and it always says MySql 5.0.18-ntà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦ no mater which version you are running. In the DOS window if it the option is 4, its running 5 and if its 5 its 4 also on the home page it displays the correct info.

Have quick check to see if the 2.0.20 update missed any table entries ( I will have a look here) just in caseà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦

Cleo did you use the update script when updating and did you have some moderators added before updating?

The only thing I can think of is an error in functions_post so here is one that I know works.

Cleo compare the two files... might help <img>

Thanks for this Fubie. It rocks to be able to do this.

My localhost forum is working great when you are a guest looking around. Then when you log in as a normal user it still works perfectly.

The problem is when I log in under my admin then I get the following error:

Of course I need to log in as admin or whats the point...lol.

All light you can shine on this would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have a mail server set-up on your local system... So you can't send mail... Just ignore the error messages or set-up mercury mail or any mail server.
Mercury Mail comes with Zampp... Has any one set it up?

Fubie,

Sorry mate...its my forum I installed.

If I ignore the error message then I still cant log in as admin so thats no good to me. If I have to install the mail side of it then thats OK but I cant understand why as I can log in as a normal user normally.

Then there is something not right with your install.

Can you wipe your install and retry it?

Also, is this a clean install or are you putting your live forum on here to toy with?

I did uninstall it and then re install before I asked you and still does the same thing.

Its my modded forum that I use and want to have it on here to do more custom additions as I have members that are on 24 hours a day and this will save me changing it live and giving them some errors occasionally.

Also before I added the MySQL part today I always could log into the forum as admin while pulling it off my server database

I'm really not sure why it is giving that error. None of my forums have done it.

I'll see if I can find an answer some where.

Fubie, I use AcidTechTiger and dont have any other template on my forum.

Michaelo, I don't have that problem at all on my live forum and never have actually.

Anyway after a 4th install it finally works where I can finally log in as admin. So this problem is now fixed.

Now the only problem is that when I try to use the (PM, Admin & Memberlist) links then it go to http:and hense in firefox goes to microsoft.com and in IE 'Page cannot be displayed'.

I can manually type in the correct addrress and it still does the same thing.

These are the only 3 links that don't work. All others work 100%.

Any ideas on this one?

This is not a big deal I guess as I wouldnt ever use 'memberlist' and wouldnt go into private messages unless I was changing something in there.

Thanks for the help as on the other site you would wait days or weeks for an answer. <img>

Wiked, add fisubice to make sure its not template related (I dont think it is) but this may help down the road as we are using fisubice as default.
It does seen XAMPP related so Fubie may be able to sort it out for you.

From everything I've read it points to a theme issue in IM that xampp has a problem with.

Wiked, Can you install fisubice on your live site, Set your admin to use fisubice, then redownload it and your db to xampp and see if that helps?

Sorry for all the dramas guys but I fixed it myself.

I had placed http://localhost as the server name in the config table where I should have just had localhost

This has fixed the problem.

Sorry and thanks for you help.

ok, i am at a loss here. i added themes to my live forum, but it does not seem possible to add them to xampp.

when i try to switch to any other theme beside fisubice, it signs me out, it will display the theme i switched to at this point, but when i click on "log in" it switches me back to the fisubice clone i made for my theme.

any help would be appreciated. i was wanting to apply the modding to any theme files that needed it before applying them to my live site, but it does not look like i will be able to do that.

thanks in advance guys <img>

thanks for the link Mike, but i am not trying to install themes on 1.4.1.

i am really asking a question about xampp here, my present forum is running on 1.4.0 and i have been adding themes to it, but, the duplicate copy of my forum i have set up in xampp, will not allow me to switch themes.

so i am trying to figure out why.

that is ok Mike  it is just puzzling me, if we cannot switch themes on xampp, then in order to test to see if we have alot of mods working right with other themes, i guess i will have to set up another test forum on my server <img>

Cleo, I'm still trying to get to this to test it. Sorry it's taking so long. Just as a test, have you tried it on the pre installed 140 forum in xampp?

no, i have not tried it on the pre installed 140, will try and get to that some time today.

i understand it may take some time for you to test this out, don't sweat over it, it is nothing major.

Ok First things first Great Job Fubie and thanks to all the rest for the tips ...

I got my live site down and the database loaded, with minor difficulties..

However when I go to start the board I get the banned error... I have had this problem before on the live board and fixed it with the acp from another admin login... To the life of me I cant figure out the why... hehehe or maybe to much work and not enough fun lately...

Well its up and running , had to go to my live board and repair the cat and forum stuff in the database then rebuild the includes/def_tree.php.. But its works great now... now to bring the site up to date locally

I must say mysqldumper is a very handy tool...

Thanks

Yes it can. Nearly any web page or web application should work.

I got my live site going on this XAMPP for testing & all was good but now i can't get into ACP plus the memberlist.php & privmsg.php show the same error page.
Anyone got an idea on how to fix this as everything else works.
Code: Select all
Object not found!  The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page  about the error.

EDIT: doesn't matter now just redid the database & it all seems to be working for now

Sweet and much useful tool. One question, how do I keep logged into the site, it seems as if a cookie isn't being created or something as anytime I click a link (Home/Forum, etc..) it redirects me to log in as it doesn't keep me logged in.

You can try changing the cookie name in your forum under the ACP>General Admin>Config settings.

Then clear the cookie from the browser. That works for me most times.

As far as I know it will not copy it you need to backup your database and them inport it throught phpmyadmin on your local machine

I can fully recommend both XAMPP and Mysqldump been using both for nearly two years before that I used easyphp for testing on home server never really liked it, then I found XAMPP it was like a whole new world used it to to run my back up site before we lost the server and IPB now where back to using phpbb (god bless free stuff) <img>
