Question... and just because I don't feel like going over there right now, and cuz I think it'd be hard to find a good answer:
Their RC betas are different from ours, correct? They provide upgrade paths from one RC to the next, so this RC can be used on a live site?

good deal. hopefully people will be able to develop some mods that won't have to be constantly updated through the RC versions.
I tried to upgrade a blank phpbb2 board to the RC1 this morning with no luck, but to be fair there really don't seem to be any real instructions on how to do that. I actually overwrote all the files and tried to do it that way and it didn't work for some reason even though the convert .script finished just fine.
I'll mess with it when I get home from work tonight. But this is exciting <img> Not to mention to create a "modded" version of phpbb3 I have a feeling will be fairly easy. It already includes a lot of excellent features that we previously had to install as MODs on phpbb2. So hopefully it's a fairly smooth transition.

Great... then I can get into this one too

At least I'm surely greatful that it's released just shortly after I started messing with phpBB3, so I didn't really waste as much effort as a lot of other did.
Even without looking at it though, I'm doubting that the changes are as dramatic to themes as they said they would be. I'll probably have my theme up by tomorrow... will keep you posted <img>
PS: I'm also excited about the engine/ Love the additional features and especially the speed!

Would there be a possibility to transfer a integrmod forum to a phpbb3 one? Is there a .script available (I wonder if I could just change my forum to phpbb2, and then upgrade using the phpbb3 provided .script)?
I should precise: I do not intend to leave integrmod for phpbb3, but I just want to see how a test site of my forum would look like under phpbb3...
Thanks,
sanji

^ A similar question in phpbb.com's support forums yielded an answer of "try it and see." lol.
They suggested to make a backup, and run the "convert" .script that comes standard with phpbb3's download. It's going to be a bit of a headdache though, I can assure you that.

That's useful material! I hope the moderators put this answer as a post-it, it sure is worth it...
I must say that although there are few things I didn't like on integramod when I choose a package for my future forum, one really outstanding thing here is the support we get on the forum.

Ok... so much for themes won't work <img>
It took me 5 minutes to get this to work... now only assign the folder images (etc.) and I'm done!

Yep, took me all of about 10 minutes to remake the theme for rc lol
I could have just tried using my old theme, but there are too many little code changes, so I just copied subsilver 2 and made it mine again.

Same here

Will now have a look/compare the databases... see if I can get my forums/roles/permissions back in

... something weird about that logic)

I've heard making templates is easier for phpbb3 and I think that's no mistake. They're wanting this version to be highly customizable and one of the easiest and best ways to customize a forum is the template. Thus the more templates there are out there the better off we all are.
