Might return to IntegraMOD

PostAuthor: Dragonsys » Wed Feb 11, 2015 8:21 pm

I might be coming back to phpBB/IntegraMOD being the state of vBulletin these days. But I have some questions...

1. Is there a list of base MODs in IntegraMOD?
2. When I click on Downloads, there are no files available, under any of the sections (including 1.4.1, 1.5.0, and 3), so how do I download the packages?
3. I don't recall what I was going to ask.

Holy cow! Now this is a blast from the past. Dragonsys!

I am not sure of the mods included so far. I mainly helped on the old site fighting spam etc etc. Hopefully Helter will chime in soon and give you some info.

Yeah, I have been using vBulletin for the last several years, but I don't like the direction they have gone with the latest versions. phpBB is still lacking in many ways, but it has come a LONG way from where it was.

I have been down and out for along time on websites. I do got several people waiting to see if the new integra is ever released so I can upgrade their sites for them. So far they all have stuck with phpBB/Integramod. Now php is causing major issues with integra 141

Hi Scooter. Which version are you looking for? IM3 is not usable unless your proficient at updating phpbb and several mods manually. When I gave up on it updates were coming in at a mad pace and I could never keep up. Updates have stopped because everyone has moved on to phpBB3.1.x but a few of the mods were never fully finished such as the KB mod and calendar. They both work, but have limited function.
IM141 has many broken functions due to php updates. IM150 is a slightly modified IM141 with a ton of php version fixes but by this point of php, here may be broken function in it also. The prob with IM150 is that there are very few templates. IM140 templates may work but there may be issues with logging in as the login code changed. If you have patience you may be able to update a 141 template to work.

IM1.4.0. is end of life. IM1.5.0 also has issues with php5.3 and up. Im currently running it on php5.5 and the album mod and pafiledb mods are both broken. everything else seem fine. Ive been talking with Michaelo the last couple days to see if these important mods can be updated to work on current php versions. Ill keep you posted.

Welcome to the forum Vendethiel. Thank you for all the hard work you and MWE have been doing on IM151. Everyone who has used it knows it is the most complete "one size fits all" forum solution. Im sure if it becomes viable on current server configurations it will quickly regain popularity.

It'll be an uphill battle with PHP7 around the corner, but it should be worth it. I'll check the work you guys put in (the beta package uploaded here) to see which parts you worked on we can take :). I can't help with the popularity aspect, I know nothing about communities :P

I just do it for the enjoyment. If someone can get some use out of it, that is great. I know it is a uphill battle to say the least. Things need to happen in a bad kind of way to bring it up to date. Bootstrap, foundation or something responsive. Bootstrap is awesome if a designer will look outside the box and change stuff up. Most people like it so much as is, things become cookie cutter. :D

I have been working with 2 bootstrap websites for the last 2 weeks or so since my net came back on. It is not a fun journey but one that must be done to stay in the game now days as far as software goes. Everything is mobile and should be treated as such. Without mobile capacity, a project is all but finished before it gets started.

Do I have the know how, no, not at all. Am I willing to not lay down and give up? Sure. Why not. What else do I have to do now days lol.

a full bootstrap template for IM151 is a monumental task and probably not realistic for one dev. I think it would take a team of 2-3 devs several months to complete. Perhaps a simpler task is to port the phpBB2.0.23 version of prosilver to IM. It removes all structural tables and uses css for structure. That makes it a relatively simple task to make it responsive. One version of IM3 used a fully responsive version of prosilver 3.0.7

the two tricky files to port will be index_box.tpl and topics_list_box.tpl

Some old gits here :) I am thus steppin'in

Hi all and txs Helter/MWE_001 for having helped to recover my old account.

I might return too actually. I have started playing wow again and my new guild really need a decent portal

I've read a lot of threads to figure out what happened those last 10 years but as a a lot of people I am still confused with all the names changes (integramod, integramod2, e tegra, kiss,...) what a mess :)

So basically I have a 1.4.1 (phpbb 2.0.22) portal with 8 wonderful themes that we built back in 2006 + and all the custom tools I developed.
The easiest way would obviously to make a new portal out of this. However I know how much the 1.4.1 version is full of security flaws (including my own tools) and a good target for different attacks . I can probably hack myself any 1.4.1 board. So my personal ethic and paranoia prevent me to take that path

What I want to do is to upgrade my old 1.4.1 to IM3/phpb3... But how? Is it at least possible ? There's no documentation, no guideline, nothing in the KB, nor in the download/update section. I am completely lost. Is the project frozen?

A short explanation is welcome

IM3 was pulled because most of the mods were never completed. It was built on phpBB3.0.x and as soon as phpBB3.1.x was released most mod authors either dropped their projects or moved all development to the new version. With the exception of the download mod and gallery and portal, none of the major mods were ever completed. For much of the IM3 development, I was on my own and I just couldn't keep up with trying to complete unfinished mods while keeping the beta up to date. Mike and I updated IM150 to work with the latest php version about a year ago but there didnt seem like much interest in the project so we didnt complete updating a few mods like pafiledb and gallery. Recently MWE and Vendethiel picked up the ball and did alot of work to update all the mods and make IM150 a viable project again. Ive been following the project but I have not had time to test it out yet.
the main differences between 141 and 150 as I remember are
updated to phpBB3.0.24
Updated ctracker
updated xtreme styles
dozens of mod modifications fixing security holes
language buttons
hundreds of rewritten php functions
template rewritten to validate at wc3

Yeah there was major work done to it to say the least and yeah it is phpBB2.0.24 unofficial for phpBB refugees. Closed the security hole in the mod cp with locking topics and images issue.

I been tied up badly the last couple weeks. First net was bad and now that it is working, I got roped in to two new urgent projects. I can not wait to get a few days to spare to get back on it.

ok... I learned something, I did not know that IM150 was built around phpbb3

If I am correct, phpbb2 styles were table-based and phbb3 is CSS/div based.
So I guess it will be hardly possible to convert my own themes automatically, right ? This is my main issue actually. The Warcraft themes I hold are shinning and unique and I'd like to convert them but I am not willing to remake them from scratch

As was said previously, I can't help you with phpBB3 business. However I can confirm IM1.5.0 (to be IM1.5.1) works fine on recent PHP versions (not yet PHP 7, as I didn't get to try it out, but since IM already has a mysqli driver, it shouldn't be that much hassle)

They weren't. I assume "3.0.24" was just a typo – it's actually 2.0.24 :-). (phpBB 3.0 only goes up to 3.0.11 anyway)

yes sorry, I meant IM150/151 = phpBB2.0.24
Also, unless the mysqli driver has been completed, it does not work. On install choose mysql4/5. Mysql3.x should probably be removed from the options list

note that the version in our dl section is not the latest version. Perhaps if MWE or Vendethiel are satisfied that the Git version is stable they can update our dl section.

I'll try to dig some time on wednesday. Starting from a scratch install, try to fix what's left (like your other issue), take a look at mysqli (because I think it's pretty important we get it done)

@Vendethiel

Looks great

But be warned !
in the old Version are Backdoors hidden ! Full Access to the whole Board is given when you know where, it was the old idea to avoid illegal commecial use ! This Backdoor has been published ! ACP=> Chat and n and more is it, we had the idea to place inside, but it isnt safe ! REmove or rewrite the code it should be safe crypted connection, we heard that even in the IRC you can read it in some chans !

Here in Germany an Idiot stole our old and original version of Integramod 132.de and solt it ! Since that, we have alooooot trouble who is the owner of the source code.....
If you have questions i still have the original 132.de Dev Version in my Safe to Diff.
If in need but i will send ONLY on a trusted and prooved Account
It could be no problem to switch a old server with php 4.x and the original 132.de online to diff and debug for PHP 5.x and Mysql

Latey i get asked more and more for integramod very very often !!!!

Best Regards
integramod.de is online but isnt be seen online what i work on !

I cant comment on software written on other sites such as .de and .nl but there are no such "backdoors" in the official IntegraMOD developed here.

"ACP => Chat" doesn't even exist.

I fixed the mysqli driver, it now works perfectly (even in complex modules like phpbbmyadmin).
I will need to add the cache to it pretty soon.

It will become the only driver available at some point, unless someone wants to port mysql/mysql4 (these needs to be merged) to PDO!

Hi Ptak,

Yes. I can confirm the cache has been added by now, and tested in many different scenarios.
If you stumble on a page that uses far too many SQL queries, come and discuss it here and I'll see what I can do: like I explained somewhere else, I modified the viewtopic page to take 9 queries instead of 40+.
