Linux distro question

Any of you guys recommend a minimal install Linux distro to run a home server (Apache, MySql, php etc.)?

Dont need X but MC (Midnight Commander) is essential (have become dependant on it)ÃƒÆ’Ã‚ ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦ or a small distro with basic X and MC?
