I'd rather be on the safe side, especially since I'm fairly new to the Dev Team. <img>

Hi guys,
I'm sure you're all working on it already... but just to check... any idea on when we could expect the patch to upgrade from v2.0.20 to v2.0.21?
Would be nice to know... THNX
PS: Just to make sure, as I don't know for certain
Question: Does the "IntegraMOD News" in the Admin Panel announce a new patch, like the phpbb one tells us that a newer version is available?

phpBB Group announces the release of phpBB 2.0.21, the "Bertie's Summer Vacation" edition. This release is a cumulative bug fix update, as well as including a number of minor security fixes. We have altered the visual confirmation system used on servers without zlib enabled to bring it up to the same level as that used elsewhere and made a few small performance improvements.
As you can read above, there maybe a small security risk. Not worth to dissable your board.
And you already have the phpbbSecurity mod installed <img>

As long as it takes.
First the development team has to go to the code changes of the phpBB upgrade, and take out the fixes they already applied them selfs.
If a fix phpBB suggest is better then the fix they applied, they have to make code changes for that fix for IntegraMOD.
Second IntegraMOD usses CH 2... the phpBB upgrade is obvious plain phpBB. So some code changes can't be made because the code you have to change doesn't exist. The have to know what the fix does, and then make code changes for IntegraMOD.
This all can take some time. In the normal phpBB code changes there are 16 files to edit. The longer the list the longer it takes to make a new upgrade.
I don't know how long the development team of phpBB did to make these code changes?

remember also that MANY of our members are still running 2.0.19 or older and have not been hacked. If someone is determined to hack your site, it will not matter what version your running. Keeping current just makes it much more difficult. The best defense it to be sure that your phpbb version is not displayed in the footer. Remember, it will display to you as the admin, but should not display to regular users.
if for some reason your unsure, you can open templates/your template/overall_footer.tpl and remove this code
{PHPBB_VERSION}

A new update of CH 2.1.4d + phpBB 2.0.20 to 2.1.4e + phpBB 2.0.21 is also out.
How do you al upgrade. Do you use that update. After lokking at those code changes, I found out you guys already made some changes in IntegraMOD as ptirhiik said in his upgrade.

Just hold your horses guys. Although I have been away for a while, I have used Integramod for quite some time. The guys here work very hard to get the updates put into place and make sure that everything is ironed out and working. Integramod uses a lot of different mods and as stated above has more files than a regular phpbb forum, therefore it takes more time. Just keep your site backed up as normal and you will be fine. Besides that, most of the security vulnerabilities are blocked by the fixes that Integramod has already done as well as the phpbb security fix. It's kind of like a microsoft issue, some times the fix is good and sometimes it's not quite so great, but it takes time to make sure that everything is good.

Could a moderator possibly delete all topics referencing 2.0.21 and then open a new thread just stating where the team are and what their intentions are?
Only say this as at the moment it seem the team know what they are doing but no one else does; theres a complete lack of communication. Perhaps adrian could also act as communication liasons rep???

adrian, you can speak behalf of the dev team or someone can least talk behelf of them..
as far as i know, all phpbb related portal systems has been updated.. and i know we have our own codes but still, the question arise and users wont feel safe if the patch are gettin delay.. as Flex mention above, we dont wonna let IM down coz of lack of communication.. we all are with u guys.. and we wil understand wat ever difficulties the dev team is facing..

Other portal systems may be updated, but it is the integration of other mods, the checking of changes in back updates to ensure that the update is as good as it can be. Members of the dev team are now testing what is expected to be the released update. Apologies for it being a delay but there is only so much people can do. I hope the update will be out within the week.
there have been a number of issues with the updates and their effect on the rest of the mods in the system. The reduction in the use of HTML codes for example.
I beleive that the 2.021 update was not mind splitting urgent as much of it was trying to correct issues from the previous 2.020
As soon as it is ready all will know.

As said elsewhere if I post the code changes here it could then get confusing and make a mess of the next upgrade from IM.

includes/usercp_avatar.php -->[profilcp/functions_profile.php]
profile.php --> [profilcp/functions_profile.php]

the problem is that I applied the 2.0.21 update before I read Teelks post that stated it was not quite ready for release. The problem with the update is that it is messing with html in posts. To put a bandaid on it till Teelk finishes the update, I globally disabled html in posts, so you now have to choose to use html if you want to add it to a post. Once the update is complete, I will put "html in posts" back to default
"edit* looks like you still have to choose "Disable HTML in this postl" any time you add " "

It's always better to use the latest. Al bugfixes from former versions are fix until 2.0.20.
And it's not known if IntegraMod Development team is also making an upgrade mod from 2.0.19 to 2.0.20. If not, you still have to upgrade to 2.0.20 first to apply the latest version (if you have added MODs of your own).

Correct, you must update to 2.0.20 before applying the update to 2.0.21. Although, I will be working on a 2.0.17 to 2.0.21 update for new users to apply, or perhaps updating the IM download... but, I have to discuss that with other staff members first.

Updating the download is a MUST really. Its way out of date and to expect a newbie to install it then have to go through several updates straightaway is too much to ask.
