Setting up 2 special groups....can you help me please?

PostAuthor: febern » Sat Jun 17, 2006 1:43 am

Hello!

I've tried to create them since days, but i still can't find the good solution, so i thought i'll ask you, im sure you will solve it.

1. I would like to create a group, it's called trial.

trial groups should support:

- Auto join to the group after the registration (i can do this now)
- The group member can access EVERYTHING (payment section/downloads too) on my site for TRIAL period (for example it would be 2 days)
- After the trial period is over, he should get a message about it via mail or pm, about he can't use anymore this group and can't join again, if he wants to access everything on the site again, he should join the payment group.

Is it possible somehow? How? can someone write it down step by step, please, it would be very helpful for me !

2. Payment Group should be support the following:

- He can join the group, but admin can approve him.
- In this group as member he can access everything on the site ( ican do this)
- Before his payment period is over he should get a warning pm or mail automatically about it

OR

- When his payment period is over disable every access from the site and he should get a message about it

Is it possible somehow?

Or any similar idea would be great for me, i've just written down how i imagine this all.

I know that admin includes Group admin section, but the truth is that im lost in these options yet

Thanks in advance!

That's a new feature since I last used Integramod, but it looks as though you will have to do this manually.

You can have the payment be auto billed, but it looks as though it will not cancel the access until you do so.

Therefore what I would do is the following:

use paypal and each day check the start date with the billing date to ensure that they match up. if they don't match up then cancel the access. This would require you to do this via automation.

Others may have other ideas, however.

Edit: with a little bit of work on it, you should be able to set up a script to check these two fields and tell you if the membership is still valid.

I think I found it. GO to User Admin and go to subscription. You should be able to not only find the expiration dates there, but also set an "action" there as well. This should solve your issue. Good luck with the paypal thing.

Hello!

I was on holiday and im just back now. Well if i go to "Subscriptions"

I can see this:

IPN Log Information

Search the IPN for each user or list transaction logs for all users. Note: you can leave the field blank to search all transactions. If the username can not be found, it will ouput all transactions too.

and

Subscription Settings

Update the subscribtion related information
Subscription General Settings
Give extra days to subscriber
Since PayPal will delay on charging payment and for the purpose of reward too, give your subcriber some extra days. for example 2.

Now i really would appricated if someone help me!

I just want a simple open group, where the members can join, but after 2 days later of their's joining date, should be expired automatically. How can i do this?????

I tried with the following settings in group admin:

Group status: Open group

Number of required posts:0
Users automatically added when posting

Bill the subscriber now for 0 (Enter 0 to create a free trial period)
This trial period should last 1 Day

What im doing wrong? Im really curious because im trying to figure out since WEEKS, but i can't!
