Having to log in twice

Hi,
all my members are having to log in twice when they visit my site. It happened on my old forum too and i successfully used :http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=228741
but it states to " upload this file to your server in the install directory (you will need to make that directory). The install directory should be in your forum directory." which directory should i upload it to or is there another way ? has anybody else come across this ?

ps I did do a search in the knowledgebase but couldnt find the topic - perhaps i'm using the wrong terminology <img>

you have to create a directory named install in the root for your IM.

upload the script here, run it, then delete it (folder and script)
