I could use some help with this. Basically what I need to do is make a few slight changes to memberlist.php (and possibly profile.php [not sure exactly how this is set up] ) such that I am able to have a secondary memberlist page which will only have members which either pull up with certain groups, or pull up with certain ranks. This is the only two ways that I can do this. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated as I am sure that this is something that isn't too common. It is basically very useful for differnt organizations, groups, or guilds which want to display there information.
How is everything connected with regards to this (ie which files will I need to modify.) is it something that is "doable"?

Hi Apocal,
Would something like this suit your needs?
It's a modified version of WoWMOD(changed for City of Heroes), register to see the profile page of my members as well, since it's been integrated there as well, and check out some threads to see it's integration in the author panel.
The wowmod is a little different in layout, since the person who changed it for CoH obviously changed it to suit the game.
MrDSL did the instructions up for PCP, some of the spacing for the FIND code may be different, but it should basically be the same.

It might work, I am still undecided which game I am publishing this for. I have been playing MMORPGs since the very first mmorpgs were released. As of lately I have been very disapointed with the games that have been published. Games such as Everquest II were a real let down. I am still getting more information to formalize an accurate opinion of the games that are coming out in the near futrue at this time. This is based on the things that I learned over the years that literally wil make or break a game. These days you can tell whether or not a game is going to be good if you look for the right signs.
The games that I am looking into currently are the following:
Age of Conan (Q4 2006)
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes (Q4 2006)
Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning Q4 2007.
Because Warhammer Online is so far off I am going to go with one of the other two. Especially since most game releases are delayed. I know more about Vanguard Online including knowing some of the devs from the past, but from the brief amount that I have seen about Age of Conan, it may not be too bad. I haven't really looked into that one too much.
Anyways, enough rambling <img>. Does this mod require it to link up with the WOW database, or how does it work about. Also can you pm me the address of your web site.
tx,
-Rich

Sorry, it's hard to see, but click on "this" in the "Would something like this suit your needs?" sentence in my first post for a link.
This MOD doesn't link to any WoW databases, it's only data that is input by the user that is displayed. The only drawback I can see with this MOD is that it allows any user of your board to add a character to the roster, so even if they aren't in your "guild"(or whatever the particular game calls them) then they can still add the character. However, if you restrict registration to members of your guild it won't be a problem.
You'll also have to delve into the code a bit to change the stats and/or skills to suit which game your adapting it to.
I agree with the current state of MMORPG's... I've since canceled my subscription to CoH, my site is still up though...

I was the Guild Master for Chaotic Legion, one of the number one and still number one guilds in EQII. I am trying to get basically another memberlist.php which is done through pcp. The nice thing about this is that the user only has to enter their information once. This information can be used on the left hand side of their posts. I have decided to forego another memberlist.php and just create another template page which will pull the information directly from the database and place it into a table. I should therefore be able to pull just the people who are under specific groups because this information ( if I remember correctly) is in the database.
By the way I looked again at Conan. It's developed by the same developer who created AO. Chances are it won't go too well, but that's just based on AO's release. Who knows they could do alright, but I'll wait to see. The other one, however, should be pretty good. It is being created by the origional creators of Everquest. I just hope that it doesn't become another EQII. Who knows, my days of gaming could be slowly coming to an end. I just find that it's a good past time which calms me and allows me to relax. As a business person and someone who is so deep into technology and the use of it, it's good to just get away when I have the time. COH just never really floated my boat.

I have a pretty good start on it. I just have to propogate the fields into PCP and change a few of the things around. I should have it done in a few days. Class time and moving takes a bit away. heh. You can view my progress here:
