While i'm on a roll...horrible thumbnail pix on album

This was low on my priority list but it really bothers me.

Is there any way to make it so the thumbnails on the album mod don't look horrible? I had the same problem with attachment pictures at first too until I enabled FTP uploading and for some reason that helped (anyone know why?) but I can't seem to find a way to fix these thumbnails.

Exe: look at the album block on my homepage, then click on the pictures to view full size to see the difference.

if you open the full size image in PS and resize it to 80x100 or whatever the thumbnail size is, you will see that the quality is dramaticly reduced. Especially if the image is saved as a gif. The only format I know of that does not have this problem is icon ( .ico)

No there is clearly an issue here and it is possibly due to the GD compression. First make sure you hve the correct GD compression enabled inyour album configuration. You can see your server's GD version in /tools/phpinfo

then you could clear your album cache and see if that restores the images.

there was a post thread in the archive that dealt with this but I cannot find it yet. Will let you know if I do

Adrian YOU ARE THE MAN!

You know, I never even thought to check my GD version for this problem. But yes I am running GD 2.xx and the GD setting was set for GD1.

The thumbnails are now working excellently and makes my homepage look a million times better!
