Show Birthday to all users

Well after searching both the new and old forums my problem still remains unsolved.

I'd like to have the user birthdays showing to all registered users (as this is what people want) Mainly they want it shown on the calander mod.

As an admin i see al the user birthdays on the calander already but registered and moderators can't

I have done the following

- Went to Configuration + > Profile Settings > Privacy > Display My PErsonal Information to yes and override user choices
- I also took the suggestion and went to the mysql database and changed phpbb_users from 2 to 1.

Neither have worked for birthdays to show to all users.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?
