Register Page too Long

PostAuthor: judoka » Wed Jul 26, 2006 3:57 pm

Hey IntegraMod Community!

I have been having some problems with users not joining my board because either the registration page is too long or they cannot figure how the control image works.

Can someone please tell me how to shorten the registration page and if possible, disable the control image.

Thanks!

Theres only a few things on the registration page that are not required, Im not sure but you would probably have to change some fields in the SQL, templates, profile.php and maybe even more some other files.

It would probably be really easy to mess things up, and make it so users couldnt register at all.

I would strongly recommend that you leave your security image intact, this helps prevent spam bots from registering on your site, and posting all sorts of inappropriate material.

This is actually the first time Ive heard of this issue with the registration page.

Sorry I couldnt be more helpà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦ <img>

Go to ACP>PCP>PCP Wizard.
Select "Alter Form Display". From here you can change whether the fields are required or not. Simply check and uncheck the box marked "Required field".
Click Submit.

You'll notice a button near the top right that says "Add/Remove Page Fields", click that and you'll be taken to a page where you can remove the fields.
Move all fields you no longer want into the left box and click submit.

Make sure that any fields you want to remove are marked not required.

I have a very related issue whereby the EQ2 theme/style removes the Rules agreement frame from registration but still requires new registrants to Agree with the terms outlined.

Without the rules and acceptance box the registrant is sent to the registration page but the necesary flag is not present.

http://houselarethian.com/forums

Sorry, it appears this is your first visit since we added some required fields to the system.
Once you update the fields marked with *, you will be able to enjoy the whole site.
Thanks!

Click on the fieldnames below to complete them:
The Field "Rules" is required

And when the "RULES" link is used the RUles agreement is not present.

I can change styles and get the fileds back, but would prefer to keep the EQ2 style.

Any ideas? Please feel free to register for yourselves.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the EQ2 style isn't fully updated to IM 1.4.1. You'd encountered the same problem if you tried to install an IM 1.4.0 theme on a 1.4.1 board.

That is quite a bummer. I was getting happy about that particular theme.

i am running 1.40 with an unmodified EQ2 theme (except for a couple image files changed.

Is there any chance I can leech code from the working forum configs and drp them on the EQ2 theme? If so which file and sql tables in the forum are affected?

Try copying the profilcp folder from fisubice into the EQ2 folder, replacing the existing files.

hmm...

Show forum rules on registration Yes No

This selection only appears in PCP>Alter Form Display, and the example here shows the rules as they are supposed to be.

Is there a possibility this switch is what is wrong? Where can I find the default data for this?
