(SOLVED) Portal Crash - Send help!

PostAuthor: AKMat » Sat Aug 05, 2006 9:59 am

Hello All,

I was trying to use Evolver’s fix to solve my problems with my calendar, but seem to have crashed my portal in the process.

I read his post at: http://integramod.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... highlight= and thought I had followed the instructions correctly and gotten the new code inserted in the proper location. When I went back to my check my portal, it will not open at all. All that I can see is the following:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: dss_rand() in /home/akmatorg/public_html/portal/includes/sessions.php on line 190

If anyone can help with this, I would greatly appreciate it. I am new and inexperienced with all aspects involved, and have had to rely on the help and assistance of Vadar while I learn how to administer my portal. This is way over my head.

My site is located at: http://www.akmat.org/portal/portal.php

The portal is/was up to date (1.4.0 with 2.0.21 and security 1.0.3).

Thanks in advance…
AKMat

dss_rand() function is located in the includes/functions.php file. I'm guessing what happened is that after you made your edit to the file it was corrupted or something on upload.

If you made a backup I'd replace the file and try the fix again. If you didn't make a backup, you can grab the updated functions.php from the latest update package(2.0.20 to 2.0.21). Of coarse, if you've added any MODs that modified this file you'll have to add them again.

Teelk, et.al.

I did try what you suggested. I used my FTP to upload/overwrite the functions.php file, but it does not seem to make any difference….any other suggestions?

I solved the problem by overwriting the includes/sessions.php document rather than the includes/functions.php

When I did so, it corrected the problem, and I'm back up.
