IntegraMOD.com versus integrmod.com

CC: IntegraMOD.com

Ok I'm very confused and I need some straight answers. I knew something (more like a fallout) happened between some people which lead to two different sites. I didnt really care what the story was so long as things worked out positive in the end. IntegraMOD.com site went down, then integrmod.com came up but without the old database, then the old database archive became available, then IntegraMOD.com came up again, then down, now up, then integrmod.com just went down for about 15mins, now up again. Now its getting very confusing. I see some of the old & same faces on both sites and support on both sites so I dont know what to make of it all. Is one a fraud and the other is not, or vice-versus?

IntegraMOD.com & integrmod.com both title their site "IntegraMOD 2".

IntegraMOD.com & integrmod.com both use the same favicon.ico -not really important

IntegraMOD.com & integrmod.com both have support for the latest security blunders:
Somebody please be brave and tell me whats going on and which site I should be turning to for IntegraMOD 1.4.0 support.

Before this gets clobbered, I would like to chime in on the confusion as well.

To be honest, I'm looking into other forums at the moment. I have to. I have a club to run.... I have to do what is best for the club. Love all the features, and I purposely stopped myself from adding ANY mods. But still it's a chore to keep up with what the heck is going on.

Hopefully a positive reply from those that know will help shed some light and restore some faith.

I guess I don't think of it as im vs im2 at all. Neither is a fraud.

Think of it this way. If you are using IM140 you can get support at IM.com and IM2.com. But after that you get support from where you download the software. So, if you are going to use IM1.41 you use this forum for support. If you goto IM.com and download IM2.0 then you stay there for support.

To put everything in a nutshell IM.com is where Integramod was started. We were hosted by Wekke, Wekke would vanishish for long periods of time while we developed IM140, afterwards he came back and said he would develope IM141 alone. Several months went by without even seeing Wekke.

The Team decided since we can't get in touch with him we would develope IM Lite. While this was happening we needed Wekke for the server because we were having lots of outages. No one could get in touch with him. The team wanted to keep the community going so we decided to move to a new host.

Wekke then returned and even after reading our posts about why we moved he said we were taking HIS project. The project belongs to the community, not a single person. Well he then decided instead of talking to some of us he would instead kill our forum permissions. He then vanished for a few more weeks, so we started IM2.com and have been doing our best to keep Integramod alive. Since his resurrection I know I have been banned from IM.com But Wekke is more than welcome here.

So it's up to everyone to decide what is best for them, IM 1.41 or IM2.0

OK thanks for the very detailed explanation. I didnt mean for it to come off as IM vs. IM2 as in a fight (altho it almost appears they are); I meant versus as in comparison. With all the ups & downs and vengeful acts going on one could conclude without asking that all the recent events are very coincidental. Im not suggesting a conspiracy theory, but the thought has crossed my mind more than once. I'm in the same position as gcomfx, I need to do whats best for my community. I think its time to drift away from 1.4.0 and check out IM 1.4.1, IM 2.0, or other 3rd-party solutions. I really dont want to because IM 1.4.0 to me is the best community application I've ever used. The other reasons to delay migrating is the lack of 1.4.0 to 1.4.1 or 1.4.0 to 2.0 update scripts. In the meantime I guess I will accept the challenge of preventing hackers from tearing down my 1.4.0 community until I see it fit to migrate to something else.

The reason there are no 140 to 141 or 140 to 2.0 updates is because both 141 and 2.0 are both Beta.

Once beta is finished for both there will be upgrade paths for you to migrate to the version that fits your community needs best.

To know which is going to be best for you I think you need to download and install both beta's, then test them to see which fits your needs.

Right I understand, I should have said that.

Fubie:

I will always use this website. I have almost always gotten great help from the people on this site and I have tried the Beta of 1.4.1 and I think it is an excellent piece of forum software. I haven't checked the latest beta yet but i'm still waiting on that donations block to be fixed though ::wink wink:: but you guys have done a great job and I think i'll stick around here.

I honestly wasn't even aware that integramod.com still existed until someone made reference to it in a post yesterday and I decided to check it out.

You guys ever thought of changing the name of the software once you get a few new versions out?

My only reasoning for that is that it seems like it could get kinda confusing once you realize that your software is ready for the 2.0 version number and there's already another Integramod 2.0 out there.

Either way you guys do a great job and I love the software so I see no problems
