Cannot add/delete forums/categories anymore

we are running phpbb 2.0.21 and integraMod 1.4. right now, i (Administrator) and my friend (board founder) cannot add/delete forums and categories on our board anymore.

adding a forum:

- "create new forum" in the appropriate section of the admin section
- i insert the information for the new board (name, description, availability to different user groups,...)
- i hit "submit"

the next page says the forums have been successfully updated, as it should; unfortunatly though the changes have not been made.

the same goes for deleting forums/categories.

any idea how we can get our board up and running again (from an administrator's perspective)? thx for any input.

Well, since you are on Windows there are no CHMODs, so something else is up.

To be honest I'm not sure what it could be. I take it you are getting no errors at all, catagories and such just don't change when you change them.

Some months ago when I was using IntegraMOD for my site, I noticed that the paFileDB permissions are not updating.

I posted it on the old site and no one even care to look at it...

I'm going to bump this because I am now finding the same problem. I also have some more details about it. I am running 1.4.0 with the latest security patches.

1) I first noticed the problem today. It was not a problem 2 months ago.

2) If I create a forum (or a category) it does get properly entered into the database in phpbb_forums.

3) The forum does not show in the Forum Administration window.

4) The forum does show in the pull downs for things like User Report Forum (in General Configuration) and Knowledge Base Comment Forum (in Knowedege Base Configuration).

5) Resync does not help.

6) If I try to view the forum directly (i.e. http://www.snowtire.info/forum/viewforum.php?f=17), the forum is reported as not being there event though it shows in the database.

Now, the important questions: How much time should be spent solving this? Should we just wait until 1.4.1 is out?

Thanks,
- John
