[Solved] Installation not going to plan

PostAuthor: scart3r » Fri Oct 06, 2006 5:59 pm

I followed the great directions to install the 140 mod, but when I go to install it it doesn't do what the instructions say it will.

Instead of going through a 9 step process (setp 6 of your instructions) it just has one page - I put in the details and then it goes to a download config page. I did that and that is as far as it gets. Doesn't go to another step. What have I done wrong?

I tried going ahead with the prillian installer, manually loading up the install page, but that doesn't solve it either.

Obviously its not installed properly, and so this is what shows up at my site

thanks guys,
Cindy

P.S. Am fairly new to this so please go slow!

Sorry if I seem impatient, but I really need this fixed! I need to launch the site in just over 48 hours and still need to get all of the config stuff done. If someone could help - that would be really fab.

Once again, I am heaps sorry if I sound impatient.

Hello,

Im not exactly sure if I can help or not, never seen this issue quite like this before with just the log in showing.

I think you have either an error or missing fields in your db, if you go to http://www.trafficbunnies.com/forum/portal.php you can see that the portal cant call your db info.

Since this is a new install I would start over.

Either clear the tables that were installed in the database, or use a different prefix (I would clear personally)

Ok once that is done upload a fresh install, and prill_install folders, and a fresh config.php file.

Now CHMOD you config.php to 666 (Make sure of this)

Now go through the install process again starting with #5 on your install instructions.

You shouldnt have to download your config.php file, it should be set up automatically.

If the install completes successfully delete your install and prill_install folders, CHMOD your config.php to 644 and double check all your other CHMOD folders and files.

If it doesnt complete successfully, first make sure you filled everything in correctly.

If cant get it to work you may want to check your Server configuration such as PHP, MySql versions and if the server is running a security script that may be preventing your installation.

I hope this helpsà¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ ¦ <img>

How do I clear the tables? This is the second time that I have tried the install. Both times encountered the same problem. Sorry if this seems like the most noobie question on the planet!

You can clear tables through phpAdmin if you have access to it by dropping tables, be careful if you have other scripts installed in your database not to delete their tables as well.

If you dont have access through phpAdmin, or dont feel comfortable with deleting tables, you can use a different prefix, instead of phpbb_ use integra_ or whatever you want, I would suggest putting the _ at the end of whatever you use.

Another thing you could do if you have the option is that you could just make another database, and use it.

Oh, so that's what that means.... I have already done that - and tried a new data base. Still no joy! Will try it again though <img>

Config.php was set to 644 - could that have been the prob? am trying again now

Thanks,
Cindy

ok, so I did that, but it doesn't go through any prill install stuff - just takes me directly to the admin config page.

Dowsn't go through the 8 or 9 step thing. Is only two steps, and then 'finish installation'

I just checked and you installed a plain phpBB2 forum, not Integramod.

If you would like to use Integramod then you will need to download it from the downloads section of this site.

Currently the latest supported version is 140, please do not install 141 untill the final public release comes out or you may not be able to upgrade.

Cool, Im glad you got it working.

Before you go public with your site, you should bring it up to date with all the updates and the security patches.

After updating, you can find the security patches on this post.
