Installation problems

I am wanting to give this latest release a try. I have unfortunately had to switch host a couple of times and my board became a victim of it. I don't know how to install a board but what I was going to do was let the Fantastico install the phpbb. After that I would like to have the Integramod swapped in it's place. Can I do it that way? I have no clue. It's not like I'm not willing to learn or anything I do pick up on things rather quickly. I was trying to find some instructions somewhere, I found something, but wasn't exactly sure because when I used it, I got nothing. (I was probably doing something wrong for it) Suggestions are appreciated I would love to have a beutiful new fully functional board again. Eventually I plan on having two seperate ones. I do want to get going on this right away. I am hoping to have something going on by Monday afternoon.

Ok Helter,
I've downloaded this and it is sitting on my desktop. I have done nothing with it. Please tell me what I need to do with this file.
Right now in my cpanel, I am looking at a lot of stuff that looks like this:

I don't know what any of that means. Does that mean I have to wait on something to maybe say "inflated'?

I'm just reading through some of this, Is the Prillian a necessary part is it optional? I like using Trillian better as it gives me access to IMing over 4 different networks (obviously that is stand alone and has nothing to do with the board)

Ok, so if I understand this upgrade thing correctly, The folder that is named root needs to get uploaded to the directory in which the Fantastico resides? I'm going to take "root" and upload it to my file that contains the rest of the existing forum. Here goes nothing!

root just means the top directory. "root" will be the folder "phpbb" that was created by the phpbb script in fantastico

ok here is what it is:
I set it up like this
stat.angelflightdj.com is the top directory.
When I opened root and I opened that root file I saw matching folders, so what I did or have been doing is adding the matching files to those folders, overwriting the old ones. If there was a subfolder in those folders I have been adding those in there and their subsequent files.
Since the things like album mod wasn't in there to start with, I manually added it in there on the same level as admin. The server's configuration looks like it does in that folder called root and all spills out the same way if you click on it.

Ok, I just FTP'd this whole file to where Fantastico installed it to. Am I ready to go to step 6 now? It said I had to set permissions first, I have no idea what's that's all about. The FTP left the entire structure in that folder intact. I had it overwrite all.
What permissions have to get set or can I just go to step 6 now?

ok,
I can't proceed with step 6 because I have this error. Please somebody tell me how to fix this one:
Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in /home/angelfli/public_html/start.angelflightdj.com/includes/functions_categories_hierarchy.php on line 138
I tried deleting the file but it left everything all chewed up. I put it back. Is there a problem with this file? Where is it supposed to go?

This happened before the last post:
Error: Duplicate entry 'phpBBSecurity_version' for key 1
INSERT INTO phpbb_themes (theme_name, theme_value) VALUES (2, 'fisubice', 'FI Subice', 'fisubice.css', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 'row1', 'row2', '', '', '', '', 0, 0, 0, '', '006600', 'ff0000', '', '', '', 0, 0);
Error: Column count doesn't match value count at row 1
ALTER TABLE phpbb_users ADD phpBBSecurity_answer TEXT NOT NULL;
And when that was done it told me :
Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in /home/angelfli/public_html/start.angelflightdj.com/includes/functions_categories_hierarchy.php on line 138

The biggest problem you have is you are running php5 and 1.40 runs on php4 you can upload the beta version of 1.41 to TEST ONLY and when it is finally released you will then know your way around it and should find it easier to setup

So what you are saying is that the version of php that I was running was newer than what the install needed? I would never have guessed that in a million years. Very interesting. <img>

Yes it is mate, maybe try what I suggested and test installing the beta version, that way you will know if your installs are working fine at least.

That's very interesting. this type of thing I'm sure happens rarely. Most of the time it's the other way around where the software is better than what the host offers, now the the host is offering better than the software. That's just wild to me. So please tell me is this beta fully functional? Will it do what I would expect of of it for the most part? and where am I going to find the beta to install it? I understand that the beta may have a glitch or two in it because it's a beta but can it get the job done? The sooner I can get this thing working the better. I will need to install it from the Fantastico build right?

The beat is nearly complete and an Alpha, the release of a fully functional 1.41 is very need indeed. The beta is as it says a beta release and should only be used for testing and not on a live board for users. It is available in the downloads section of this forum. No no fantastico is required just follow these insrtuctions.
1. Create a database in phpmyadmin
2. Add a user to the database in phpmyadmin
3. Upload the zip file to you host in a test folder or where you want.
4. Visit c-panel and extract the zip contents.
5 visit
http://www.yourdomain.com/the-folder-yo ... nstall.php6. Follow the screen instructions.
If you have difficulties with this please pm me with you yahoo messenger details so I can add you and further assist you

I am having the php5 migrated down to a php4 should that help assist in resolving the problem? It's in the process of being done by my hosting as we speak.

ok then 1.40 should work fine you might just have to re-install I would use this one here
http://www.integramod.com/forum/dload.p ... file_id=95And follow these steps
1. Create a database in phpmyadmin
2. Add a user to the database in phpmyadmin
3. Create a subdomain for you site
4. upload the contents of the ROOT directory from the zip to the folder the sundomain creation made.
5. Goto
http://your-sub-domain.com/install/install.phpFollow the screen instructions from there

My host has free subdomains. If I choose the sub-domain to be
http://start.angelflightdj.com then i should install the board to this domain?

Looking through your cpanel I would suggest that you remove/delete all sub domains and start a fresh, when you and a sub domain it should automatically add a folder for the sub domain that you create in the public_html folder so if you create a sundomain start for
http://start.angelflightdj.com then you should find a folder start in public_html.
Then the contents board should be uploaded here or a folder with public_html/start.
which would give you a url of
http://start.angelflightdj.com or
http://start.angelflightdj.com/start/fo ... our_choice

Ok got your board all setup for you.
Installed IM140
Upgraded 2.0.17 to 2.0.19
Upgraded security 1.0.2 to 1.0.3
Upgraded 2.0.19 to 2.0.20
Upgraded 2.0.20 to 2.0.21 (latest phpbb update for 1.40)
All seems to be running fine apart from the subdomain, I removed your start sub domain and re added it in c-panel but the DNS has not picked it up yet so you have to access it via
http://www.angelflightdj.com/start/portal.php I will pm you your login details
