this is probably a silly question. do I need to install all of the languages I don't speak into this thing or can I just omit them? same goes for a lot of the images that just don't pertain? I'm just trying to save some time. I don't have an ftp client or I would have been done with this by now.

That depends on you, if you want to offer other languages than yes, you should include them. If you know everyone who visits your site will speak your language than you don't need to keep them. As for the images, they don't matter, if you see images that you don't use and never will, dump them. Just be careful you don't delete any by accident that you need.

If that happens the easiest thing I can suggest when you see a missin image/broken image box is to right click the missing image box, select "properties" and view where it was supposed to be and what it was supposed to be and reupload that image...

Or... you could just right click the image and click view image i guess... <img>
