[Kind of not Solved]Read Topics

In my forum it always shows the topics I just posted as not being read, and topics that I have read as not being read.
It does this for everyone, and it makes it hard to filter through all the threads and topics if it shows all the recent topics as not being read even though they are.
I was thinking this may be a cache issue, but I am not sure where at or if it is at all.
Any ideas?

check and redo your chmods. I think when I had a similar problem, it was due to some incorrect chmods in root/includes/

Yeah I tried running chmoder, but it said invalid at all lines blah blah.. So I did them manually. I will check the knowlegebase at the other site and make sure I have them all right again.

All my chmods are correct as per the IM 140 install manual, but it is still leaving all the topics as unread.
Any other thoughts?
*Edit* It also seems to be marking what I submit as a new post.
And soemtimes some of the threads will show they are read, then they will show they are not..
This is weird..

Everything seems to be working now. it just took some time I guess.
I had one chmod off, so that had to have been it.

OK, this is really starting to get on my nerves and my members are not coming to the forum to post because of this.
It is not all the time but a lot of the time.
It shows the posts I make as new to me. I go into a forum and to the post that is new, then click on the index link and it is still labelled as new!
All my chmods are right.
It does not do it at this site. What is the difference? Other than this is a fresh install.
Can you do a fresh install of IM140, and then just copy over the old DB? May fix some problems? Not that I want to go through remodding my whole site again though.

if you do a fresh install and then copy over your db, it is no longer a fresh install <img> If you think youve messed up some files, you can do this. Just be sure to re-add any dl's and attachments before you use any acp db tools. Also make sure any templates from your old site have been added, or uninstall them before you make your db backup

Well I just don't know what else would cause this issue. It seems like a caching problem to me, but how can you do anything about it? Turn cache completely off, then you get massive load time all the time.. hehe
