I just upgraded from 132 to 140

And have done the security updates and have read and read many post similar trying all the fixes n suggestion I can find.

This thread has a good suggestion to edit the fields via phpmyadmin but I am not sure how to edit this for just me let alone all 3500 fourm members

I oculd dump the user n do a mass find n replace but there is so much code.

I have check and reuploaded files.

Reason im using 140 is I tested 141 on a similar forum and I lost everything. Im much farther along with 140. everything is there but no one can get into their profile to update them security questions.

Is there any way to temp disable the need for them security questioins?

I could make a donation if some IM staff would help me resolve this. I run a help forum and my users are lost without the forum.

I got icq, yahoo, msn, aol.........

on the downside my hosting place is having slowness problems, They said I had to update the forum to stop a cgi flaw and why im updating now.

I need to just make the forum work while I take my time moving to a new host. They won't let me forum run as is using 132

I found this one to disable it but it don't work for me???

this is the line of code it show is in error,

any help with this??? I exported my user table to edit 1 persons info like above to test and I know it was done right n I didn't mess with any of that code that error shows? Maybe this is my problem?

check your file permissions then re-run the update.php file

you mean the db_update.php files?

tried it but it doesn't do anything but make ya log in then load the page saying please update security questions..... which ya can't do cause the profile page wont load.

I tried that editing the user data by phpmyadmin to bypass security questions and it worked but I just get blank pages into the forum.

As an admin I can get to the CP but thats about it.

I have money n can pay a IM staff member to help if you can?

I could try going to 141 if you think that iwll help but when I tried updating my other small unsed forum that was updated to 132-140 a while when I updated it to 141 I lost everything. All messages n post, n files were gone. images n junk were still in folders and a DB restore didn't bring them back. Had to revert it back to 140 for it to have all its data.

If I use a dowload manager to download index or portal.php I get the right stuff, but in a browser they just load blank.
