Junior Admin Screen

I asked this on im.com but it never got answered.

My Junior Admin screen has a lot of checkboxes that can be checked/unchecked but those changes don't seem to have any way of being saved. There's no Submit Changes button or similar.

Is my site messed up or what? Why have non-functional checkboxes? At the top of the page it reads "This page allows you to change certain admin only user options and also edit their module list."

I can edit their module list without any problems. I cannot make any changes in Allow Avatar, Allow PM, and User Active from this screen... because I cannot submit any changes.

What's the story here?

Well, that certainly won't happen here <img>

Anyway, if you think it's missing features you can try reuploading the relevant template/admin/ tpl files

Solved / Abandoned?

Neither Solved nor abandoned...

I reuploaded three jr. admin tpl files to each of my templates. (jr_admin_user_info_header.tpl, jr_admin_user_permissions.tpl, jr_admin_user_list.tpl)

I reuploaded 1 jr. admin php file to both my admin and admin/modules. (admin_jr_admin.php)

I cleared cache with Extreme Styles.
I cleared private data with Firefox.
I checked with both IE and Firefox.

My Junior Admin screen, no matter which template I choose, has no visible way of saving changes.

My original question was asked when I had 1.40. I updated to 1.41 and the problem persists. It's certainly not critical but I'd like to know the problem.

Any ideas?

you're right, that first screen doesn't seem to have a submit button for it, but if i'm not mistaken, that first page is only a reference screen to see what they have set.

Allow Avatar
Allow PM
User Active

are all set in the User List section.

If you go to the User List, and select the person's name, and click on Open / Close

then click on Manage

Scroll all the way to the bottom to the section called: Special admin-only fields

You'll see the following:

User is Active
Can send Private Messages
Can Display Avatar

When you change them there and then go back to the main jr admin page, your changes will then be reflected in the check boxes

As stated, it's not a critical issue but it doesn't seem meaningful to have checkboxes that can be checked and unchecked but it doesn't do anything.

it's just letting you know at a glance who has what activated. You can sort each column to make it easier to tell.

It seems, checkboxes were opted over the on/off words... personally, i think it's easier to tell if it's on with checkboxes than with the words...maybe their oversight was to grey the boxes out so you know they're not editable there, but the end result would still be the same, you have to go to the user's settings to change it and those 3 options technically have nothing to do with being a JR admin

Well, then, wouldn't it be sweet to be able to make mass changes all at once on that screen? Is that doable?

It's doable, and I think you're right about it being a nice option to mass change it there.

The author of that mod is Nivisec @ http://www.Nivisec.com

Unfortunately his site is down at the moment so I can't tell what the newest version of this mod is, but we use Junior Admin v2.0.5

I would imagine that this question has been asked several times and he might have included it or offered a fix for what you're after. You might try google.com for an updated version.
