Rules error for ACP and user

I am having users get the message:

Sorry, it appears this is your first visit since we added some required fields to the system.
Once you update the fields marked with *, you will be able to enjoy the whole site.

When they click the "Rules" link they are taken to their profile where there is no option to correct this.

Secondly when I went to the ACP to shut the option to override userchoices to "No" I get this error:

[color=blue]Sorry, your password can not be the same as your username.

I was going to temporarily turn this off until I could find out the issue but I see that can't happen either.

The issue arose when another staff member was posting and clicked "View more Emoticons" and the window brought up the rules issue.

Anyone else with this issue and if so what is the fix?

Hi Tom. I had this, or a similar problem once that turned out to be a bad file, or files in the templates profilcp folder.

I just renamed and replaced yours so see if the problem still exists. If so, Im wondering if maybe the security mod update sql error'd and I missed it.

Thanks my friend. I don't know if that was it or not. I can't duplicate the issue but what I did do on the account that was having the problem was login as him and get the problem to duplicate and then I clicked the rules link on the left menu bar and so far it isn't an issue. I have posted for our members to dedicate themselves to using the bug report forum so we can get issues ironed out. Hopefully they will comply and we can get this thing hopping along smoothly.

I must say it is the best forum software setup I have seen since using phpbb for 4 years now and I have tried many of the variations. <img>

I'm using the EQ2 template and someone just told me they are getting the "must accept rules" but in the PCP the rules section isn't there.
