Can someone help me upgrade version 140 to the latest? I've read the posts but I'm not sure of the order to do what. No Mods running now, just a basic install.
Thanks,

Under downloads I see security updates. How do I know what my security level is? I guess that would tell you which file to run first?
Thanks,

when you go to the acp, at the top it should tell you

phpBB Security Status
The newest release is 1.0.3. The version you are using is 1.0.3. So I would have to say you are up to date!

if it does not, then you need to update the security.

You just have a basic install of IM 1.4.0, and you want to upgrade to the latest Security and phpBB versions correct?

Look in the ACP, if you see a box at the top of the left menu with a name of "phpBB Security Status" then you already have the latest version of Security, if not, then you need to update.

Also, on the index page of ACP, look in the right side and see what version of phpBB you have installed.

Box says:
Your installation does not seem to be up to date. Updates are available for your version of phpBB, please visit http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php to obtain the latest version.
The latest available version is phpBB 2.0.20.You are running phpBB 2.0.17.

I went there but don't know how to install.
Thanks,

Do not use the files from phpbb.com. They will break your IM.

Since you are running 2.0.17 you will want to use this upgrade Download here

If you have not installed any hacks/mods, then you can use the pre-modded files.

Did you have the little box for Security at the top of the menu in your ACP?
