Issues

WOW! I had no idea there were so many issues with IM! I am looking for a couple of fixes for what I have going on and there is one issue after another and it seems that coding updates/fixes are at a standstill due to mods that are so integrated that they can't be uninstalled nor can they be debugged to work well with the other portions of the software that is needed.

What is the game plan here? I understand there will be yet another version soon of IM but will it fix these issues with CH? Will the problems that are overflowing in this support forum be fixed?

Right now I can't update the settings for the registration because no matter what I do I keep getting the error:
Sorry, your password can not be the same as your username.

Click Here to return to General Configuration

Click Here to return to the Admin Index

This was told to me I couldn't use the same password and username. I am not. Even if I were I am talking about doing this from the ACP.

Path to event]http://integramod.com/forum/bbcode_box/images/site_search.gif[/flash:2fr0xafj] image that is seen when you post does nothing but show an error in the status bar of the browser.

These are all small issues as IM is the most excellent setup I have seen made using the phpbb platform but I need these issues fixed.

Anyone had these issues and fixed them? If so please post what you did or PM me with the fixes and I will post them after I fix mine.

Thanks,
Tom

ACP/Admin Control Panel > General Admin > Configuration + > Profile Options > Registration Information

I agree 100% on that one. That error always bothered me, but I always forgot about it. The error just doesn't make sense to appear in the ACP.

Not sure what you mean about the rules though. If need be, they can be modified from another area of the ACP. If you need to edit them, that is.......

If memory serves, I put Username as the username on that page to get it to go through okay on that ACP section...

I don't understand the 'Forum' issue you mention. Perhaps a link or screenshot?

I don't get the Site Search image issue either. Maybe it's just too late for me...

At the bottom of that setup for "Registration" you have the option of over riding users choices. It dosen't matter though because none of those is effective with the error I get.

Now that you mention it I should have a link via ACP to edit/update the rules which when I do should make it automatic for members to read them again. That link isn't there so there is another problem I need to figure out.

Hey..that worked for updating it. However the rules still do not appear in the profile or for new registration.

The site button you will notice next to the google button when you are posting/replying. I don't know what it does. It is the BBCode buttons.

Well I went to the PCP Wizard and removed the rules then added it back and it works now.

Odd...but that is what I did. I will update if that didn't work like it appears to be for now.

Thanks for the feedback.

Site Search does nothing on my site as well.
What about that forum title issue?

As you can see each of my forums is named "Forum". I can't seem to fix this. The two you see should be respectively, "Performance" and "Jeep Trader".

When you go ACP, Forum Admin, & Management +, do the names show up correctly? If not, what happens when you click Edit for the categories and try to make changes?

Does this happen on all themes?

Yes I would follow tmotley's advise on the names. Go there and edit the forums or categories and add the names in.

Rules can also be changed in the Forum ADmin area.

Also the Site Search button is listed in teh 141 bug fixes. So hopefully we can get it straightened out.

That is either due to what tmotley said above, or it could be the way your Template is designed.
Can you post a copy of templates/{your_template}/index_box.tpl here?

I constructed a step by step with illustration to show what I mean at this link: [url=http]Click Here[/url]

EDIT:

Here is a copy if index_box.tpl as you requested too.
Code: Select all
<BEGIN><BEGIN><table><tr>     <th> {L_FORUM} </th>     <th> {L_TOPICS} </th>     <th> {L_POSTS} </th>     <th> {L_LASTPOST} </th>   </tr><END><BEGIN><tr>     <BEGIN>     <td><img></td>     <END><td><span><a>{catrow.CAT_DESC}</a></span></td><td> </td> </tr><END><BEGIN><tr>     <BEGIN>     <td><img></td>     <END>     <td><img></td>     <td>         <BEGIN>         <table>         <tr>             <td><a><img></a></td>             <td>         <END>         <span><a>{catrow.forumrow.FORUM_NAME}</a><br></span>         <span>{catrow.forumrow.FORUM_DESC}</span>         <span>{catrow.forumrow.L_MODERATOR}{catrow.forumrow.MODERATORS}{catrow.forumrow.L_LINKS}{catrow.forumrow.LINKS}</span>         <BEGIN>             </td>         </tr>         </table>         <END>     </td>         <BEGIN>     <td><span>{catrow.forumrow.TOPICS}</span></td>     <td><span>{catrow.forumrow.POSTS}</span></td>     <td> <span>{catrow.forumrow.LAST_POST}</span></td>     <END>     <BEGIN>     <td><span>{catrow.forumrow.forum_link.HIT_COUNT}</span></td>     <END></tr><END><BEGIN><tr>     <BEGIN>     <td><img></td>     <END>     <td><img></td></tr><END><BEGIN></table><br><END><END>

I copied a newly downloaded index_box.tpl file and it now works.

Code: Select all
<BEGIN><BEGIN><table><tr>     <th> {catrow.tablehead.L_FORUM} </th>     <th> {L_TOPICS} </th>     <th> {L_POSTS} </th>     <th> {L_LASTPOST} </th></tr><END><BEGIN><tr>     <BEGIN>     <td><img></td>     <END>     <td><span><a>{catrow.cat.CAT_TITLE}</a></span></td>     <td> </td> </tr><END><BEGIN><tr>     <BEGIN>     <td><img></td>     <END>     <td><img></td>     <td>         <BEGIN>         <table>         <tr>             <td><a><img></a></td>             <td>         <END>         <span><a>{catrow.forumrow.FORUM_NAME}</a><br></span>         <span>{catrow.forumrow.FORUM_DESC}</span>         <span>{catrow.forumrow.L_MODERATOR}{catrow.forumrow.MODERATORS}{catrow.forumrow.L_LINKS}{catrow.forumrow.LINKS}</span>         <BEGIN>             </td>         </tr>         </table>         <END>     </td>     <BEGIN>     <td><span>{catrow.forumrow.TOPICS}</span></td>     <td><span>{catrow.forumrow.POSTS}</span></td>     <td> <span>{catrow.forumrow.LAST_POST}</span></td>     <END>     <BEGIN>     <td><span>{catrow.forumrow.forum_link.HIT_COUNT}</span></td>     <END></tr><END><BEGIN><tr>     <BEGIN>     <td><img></td>     <END>     <td><img></td></tr><END><BEGIN></table><table><tr><td><img></td><td><img></td><td><img></td></tr></table><br><END><END>

So far.......

To clarify, you want the Cat/Forum name to show instaed of just the word Forum...

OPEN tamplates/{your_template}/index_box.tpl
FIND: around line 7
Code: Select all
    <th> {L_FORUM} </th>

REPLACE WITH]     <th> {catrow.tablehead.L_FORUM} </th>[/code]

I have never seen this before.... but it looks like you might have gotten this all corrected?

I have yet to find a fix for this. I know there was discussion about it a while back, and they were talking about removing it from the next version of IM, but I'm not sure if that is still true or not.

No problem then. I just took the button link out of posting_body.tpl. No since it being there to confuse folks.
