The reason you had to register again was that the users were not imported from the old site.

'./pafil' suggests that it is not looking at the correct url I think

Sounds like uploads permissions need to be checked for correct chmod. I had the exact smae issue and it was a permissions issue all the way...

chMod 777 pafiledb/uploads

database name is nothing to be concerned with. It's only the title that will appear on the top of the page. When putting a link in pafiledb it should look something like this http] Replacing your site and file name of course. That should do the trick. Any more trouble, let us know. I for one had, so many problems w/pafiledb when I started, that I now pretty much know all in & outs <img>

Hi all

I have tried to chmod all the files and the directories to 777 and put the correct path but i still get the same error

The selected File does not exist anymore

404 File Not Found: The File ./http://www.mywebsite.net/pafiledb/uploads/download60374f717b30eeec4215ccb6b9f0a93c.gz does not exist

I have tried with both my website.net and without the same thing happens, anymore ideas on why this is happening please?

Hi Adrian
no i can't access the folder

http://www.djazairweb.net/pafiledb/uplo ... 9f0a93c.gz

yes i am not sure either but the './' is not in the link in the ACP download Config.

so it is that what's causing the error i honestly don't know where it's getting it from.

one question though do i need to put the download directory inside the uploads directory or it won't make no difference?

Please advice, imean you guys just have a look at your sites that same section how it is set and i'll do the same hopefully it will work.

Many thanks

What is the name of your forum directory, or is it in the root directory? I went to http://www.djazairweb.net/ but it was not an IM install, is there a http://www.djazairweb.net/forum/?

hi adrian and thanks for your reply

no it's not in the root directory sorry
it is here http://mysite/home/portal.php (edited now to remove. A)

i just opened the board only for you to have a look at it, because it's not finished yet, i won't officially open it until it's all ready to rumble <img>

Anyway i hope you'll be able to help with this issue

strange enough the two sites i had before never had a problem with the download section at all, this time it can't find the files which is weird.

Let me know please if you do discover anything i missed.

Cheers!

OK I went onto your site, and I was able to upload and receive a file. Which then makes me wonder is it a permissions or allowed extensions issue?

Hi Adrian

yes i have just seen your file but i don't know where this Allow thing is, i have given every permission that i came across, unless you can point me to an area that i haven't yet seen

can you please give me an example of your site ACP download path

is it like this /pafiledb/uploads

or like this http://www.djazairweb.net/pafiledb/uploads/

I have a directory inside the uploads called "download" and the files are inside that directory.

Thanks

oh forgot to mention that your request is been set
you can login anytime
cheers!!

I'm still confused about your path. If it is http://mysite/home/portal.php
Than the pafile path would be http://www.djazairweb.net/home/portal/pafiledb/uploads/file name or directory here if you have created directories within uploads. I usually go into ftp highlight the file, right click and go down to copy url path. Than I only have to supply the http://www.mysite.com The copy url path may vary per ftp, the description above is w/Smartftp.

edit] I should also add... the only time I have seen a file like ./pafiledb/uploads/60374f717b30eeec4215ccb6b9f0a93c.gz is when I did the actual upload w/pafiledb. Personally, I upload everything to pafiledb via ftp. May want to consider that option to eliminate odd looking urls.

No problem, you need to go ACP> Security>Special> and increase the number of allowed admins to 2

I have been able to upload images, exe files and get tham on return. The only time I then could not get them was after a maintenance click in the ACP. Can I ask if you could reupload the files again, and then attempt to download them?
