Alter the required information in profile

PostAuthor: ZacFields » Thu May 25, 2006 4:32 pm

I have a feeling this is going to turn out to be a stupid question but regardless, I couldnt' find it in the forums by searching "required and info" so here it goes.

I was hoping to adjust some of the "required info" for registration. I just upgraded a board of 1150 users to IM 1.4.0 and I know people are going to be lazy and I'll lose some member base if I leave it like that...then there's another percentage that are going to be confused.

Anyone know of a way? I looked through the admin panel but didnt' see anything...but then again there's like a million things in there! I love it! Anyways, any help wwould be appreciated guys. My brain is fried from about 6 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours.

Just to add to my question (i apologize I am running on almost no sleep for the last few days messing with my site)

I'm referring to how when everyone logs in, they now have to adjust their profiles to add a security question and all that stuff, I'm wanting to disable that for right now because my site was down for a week and a half and I want to get my visitor-base back up ASAP and worry about that other stuff later.

~ You could try the FTR (Force to Read) MOD in the ACP under FTR Management. The purpose of the MOD is to Force the members to read a certain topic.

~ Create a topic that says something like FYI All Members...Due to recent upgrades to the site, you'll need to reenter some information in your profile.

~ Also, you may not have to do anything at all as once they login, it may tell them automatically that they have to enter certain information in order to view anything else on the site.

I'm sorry I am so sleep deprived. lol

No i'm actually wanting to disable this feature and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to make it so the only required fields are lthe username, password, security code , etc and take some of that other stuff away. Like I don't want to require them to pick a country flag or anything.

Go to the ACP -> PCP Wizard -> Alter Form Display

On this page, you can change the Required Fields.

To completely remove a field go to the ACP -> PCP Wizard -> Add/Remove Page Fields

On that page you can remove or add any fields you want.

Thank you a ton that is exactly what I needed. Perfect perfect perfect.

I knew integramod had to have that functionality especially for sites like mine that are based locally so there would be no need to be worried about what country anyone was from.

Anyways, thanks a ton, once again! I think I can go to bed now
