You can use any image as news icon.
For dark backgrounds better use .gif of .png images...
...or images with the same background...
But you probably allready knew that...
You're asking or images, but there are so many.
It would be useful to know what the news is about...
Sports, education, gaming, humor, animals,...?
You can even use mobile-phone wallpaperdemos as news-icons... <img>
There are so many sites about that...
