[solved] Can't add new forum

This is a storage one and I hope some one can point me in the right direction.

Basically my site has been going for 4 months or so now and its was running real sweet unwell I tried creating a few more forums/sub forums last night. After I created them they never showed up. So I tried it again and still nothing.
I had a quick look at the database, which I dont know to well yet, and managed to find them listed in under phpbb_forums table.
I really am stook and dont know what to do about this so any help would be appreciated

did you click on Resync a few times?

No unfortunately that doesnt solve it:( - I wish it was that simple
The forum I create doesnt even show up on the forum admin> Management + page in ACP

check your chmods for includes/def_*
in particular, check includes/def_tree.php
it should be set at 666 for a linux/unix server and read/write for a windows server

thats fixed it thanks. i forgot i tried replacing them files due to another problem i had
