Blocking new users from posting html or bbc code

I'm trying to find out a way to block new users from adding code to postings for a determined number of hours, say 24 hours. Iam having issues with spammers adding posts with links. Any ideas?

There may be much simpler ways to do this, but this is what Ive done when ive had similar problems.
This will limit a users first post to one forum. It will keep the post hidden from the public until a moderator has read it and approved it. If the users post is inappropriate, or his sig contains undesirable links, simply delete, or ban the user and delete the post. If he is legit, approve the post and he should be automatically added to the "members" group with general posting permissions




create two groups.
"users" and "Members"

for Users, go to acp/Group Admin/Manage

Group name: Users
Group status: Auto join group
Number of required posts: 0
Number of max posts: 1
When users have posted... check the box "Users automatically added when posting"
This only applies... check the box "Add/Update new users"

Create a new forum called somethine like "Introduce Yourself"

set the posting privleges for this forum.
Go to acp/Forum Admin/Permissions
Use Simple Mode and set to "Registered"

Enable the approval mod
Go to acp/Approval/Edit Forums
Choose "edit" on the right of your new "Introduce Yourself" forum

Enable Approval System: check
Moderate: "All Users & Topics"
Moderate on: check both "New Topics" and "Topic edits"

choose your moderators who can approve topics. Use the find, or add buttons to do this
PM User on Approval: "Enabled"
Hide Unapproved Topics: "Enabled"
Hide Unapproved Posts: "Enabled"
Moderator Notification: "Enabled"
Notify on: check "New Topics", "Topic edits", "New posts" and "Post edits"
Notify Via: your choice

Edit forum permissions for all forums

Go to acp/Forum Admin/Permissions
look up your forum (the same for all public forums)
use "Advanced Mode"
set all public forums "Post" and "Reply" sections to "Private"

Edit the posting permissions for the usergroup "Members"

Go to acp/Group Admin/Permissions/

choose "Members"
use "Advanced Mode"
for each public forum choose
Post= On
Reply= On
