Permissions Filtering w/ Recent Topics/Uploads Blocks

I have a problem that I hope has already been addressed and the solution has merely just avoided my search of the site.


I'm using IM Portal with the Recent Topics, Recent Uploads and Top Downloads blocks. Everything works fine.

However, all 3 of these blocks do not have any permissions limitation as to what they display. Guests can see new messages in topics that only certain UserGroups have access to.

With the paFileDB related blocks, files uploaded into private categories also display in the scrolling blocks, even to guests and members who can't access those categories.


So... I'm hoping that there is an update to these blocks that adds permissions filtering to what is displayed.

If not, can anyone provide the modifications/code required to do so?

If not, will anyone wish me luck as I attempt to bastardize, cut & paste existing code into something that will work? <img>

I had a look at your link and without being logged in I can see your forums so any posts in recent topics are displayed from public forums. A simple test is to make a forum private and then post in it and see if it appeard in recent topics while logged out.
