How to remove components from menu

PostAuthor: tc1967uk » Sun Nov 12, 2006 12:10 am

Hi

I've disabled/switched off several items, like downloads, album and calendar, but they still appear in the menu at the side. Can anyone tell me how to remove them from the menu in the left hand column please?

acp/general admin/Qbar/Board Navigation
choose edit...delete the links you dont want displayed. DO NOT delete "Board Navigation"

Going into Qbar, I can edit or delete the Menu and the Extra Menu, but the default_Board_Navigation , the default_menu and the default_tree are all set Display=No, and have no Edit or Delete options next to them.

Can I get them back?

Those aren't displayed, they're there so you can import from them into other menus. Say you accidentally deleted the entire board navigation. Instead of having to put back all the links, you can simply import them from one of the default menus.

You want to go a little deeper to remove links from the different menus. Click on board navigation, or menu or whichever one you want to remove links from and you'll get more options.

That's great - thanks Teelk.

I notice that you have a 'Donate' button, and I'm earning points for posting. Is this to donate points to people who help you, and if so, what do they do with the points once they have them.

I've had a faor bit of help since I joined, and would like to donate, but wonder what they're good for.

On this board they are mainly just a prestige sort of thing... cause you get them for posting. More posts=more points=contribution to the community sort of thing.

They're mainly if people want to install any game MODs or any other MODs that may use a cash/points system.

Is it possible to add extra Nav menus? I've got Nav and Nav2, but when I try to create an extra one it just replaces Nav2. How can I create a Nav3 etc?

This can be done, but it requires a dive into the code. I'm working on getting IM 141 released right now. When I'm done with what I'm currently working on I'll take a look for you and post instructions.

That would be so useful and much appreciated. I'm sure many people would agree. Thanks Teelk.
