News Block

Hi,

I am a bit of a newbie to IM but I know phpBB like the back of my hand!

I like IM and I am going to use it on my Wii community FOREVER!

I was just wondering how to get the latest threads up from just one forum, I want the portal to show Wii News from my forum on the front page (portal) just like this site.

Please help?

How about a link to see your forum.

I think you can pick what ever you want, to test, just edit a post and look at this setting: "Select news category" and it should show in the portal. If not check in admin and make sure the news block is active (I think it's on by default though)

I kinda have it but I want the logo at the side and all the info just like this site has.

I used to mod a Integra site which had the same portal.

Ok I think you mean top, and you want to move your pic to the left side? <img>

If you look around in admin > general admin > configuration
then look down the page for logo setting and use your pic, that one will be on the left.

No lol, I was on about getting the portal to pull news from a forum, like this site pulls news from a forum and displays it on the portal.

Look at wiiemu.co.nr's portal, I want it to be like this sites.

I think he means he wants a forum post to be put in a block, in the center, on the portal page, and have the little images depending on what kind of news it is right?

If this is the case, just turn on the announcement block (might be news) in acp, and when you make a post you want there, do as he said, and turn it to news when you post it

3 down from the top is "Select news category:" and you pick "General news"
You need to have rights to use the news like a admin or be given rights by a admin.

I'm having the same issue as the OP. I've checked everything and read the FAQ and still won't show on the Portal.php page.

I've found the reason why the news/posts were not showing up on the index (Portal) page.

I'm using the 'default' selection on the IM Portal.

Go to the Admin section of your site,
Go to IM Portal,
Select "Block Management"
Select "Choose Portal Page" - I chose the default,
Go down to the entry/block marked "IntegraNews".

Mine was OFF by default. Turned it on, and viola - everything that was supposed to appear on the Portal page, is now visible!
