My Site is transiently slow from time to time. I noticed "Debug is on" at the bottom of my pages.. Can you tell me how to turn that off and what other settings may can be tweaked to improve this? Also,QBAR now won't let me add or change anything - no errors, it just doesn't change anything. Could this be a directory permission issue? If so, which one(s)? Thanks again for all of your help!

One thing I found that helps speed up my 1.4.1 site when it gets a bit bogged down, is to go to phpmyadmin and simply repair ( if needed )and optimize your database. As well, I like to delete the cache from IM Portal as well if I have done some work as far as blocks and stuff go. Also, I do this in extreme styles too. And for the record, I never turn Debug off. Ohhh yeah, and make sure if you do any work to the index like adding new categories or threads, Resync the forums.

That is just a few things you can try. I am more than sure Helterskelter or some of the other users can chime in here as well.

the qbar cache file is includes/def_qbar.php. It should be chmodded to 666
