I remember when I first ran accross 1.4.0 and was all excited till I found out there was no upgrade for an exsisting phpbb forum. I was assured an upgrade was just around the corner. Seems to have been over a year ago. 1.4.0 never did get its upgrade to phpbb script.

Will we ever see a script to upgrade from an exsisting phpbb forum? <img>

Yes, there will definitely be an update script/path to go from phpBB(any version) to the latest IM. Whether it be 1.4.1 or future releases.

Sorry for complaining, but it really bothers me when technical nubes, who have no idea of the complexities of coding, keep crying about when a release is going to come out.

Do you know how complex this code is??
Are you aware of the intricacies involved with this product

It takes alot of work, analysis and skill to write this code, much of which, lets not forget, is not even there's ... its PHPBB's, as well as "other developers" mods. So they not only have to write their own code, but there's also the learning curve invloved with understanding the core code and the modifications, which they're developing on top of, and doing so in such a way that it all works.

So this is not just sit back, have a donut and a cup of coffe and then write some code and its done and released. There's much in the way of complexities, and analyses that need to be sorted to make it all work, and doing so with different devs from different locations and getting each devs code to work in harmony with the others.

Stop trying to get a quick release, because if it comes out broken, then you're going to want quick support. Let them do what they have to do, so that everybody can be happy in the long run.

This is almost laughable after over a year and still in beta.

Will anyone be left to try out the final product or will they all grow old and wither away. I hope the masses return if the product is worth the wait. "The good things in life are worth waiting for". Will this be one of those good things?

In the more recent past the goal post have been moved several time, this accounts for a considerable amount of extra work in the upgrading of IntegraMod. We could have released 1.4.1 six months ago if people didn't keep updating such things as phpBB, php, mysql and some key mods... Okay so these are excuses but nevertheless each had the effect of delaying our progress. Unfortunately we are not masters or our own destiny...

We are operating with a smaller team than we would like but again we have no control over the demands placed on our staff by the real world. Be patient, it is almost there...

In an earlier post an Admin claimed having a smaller team was an advantage....you say disadvantage. What happens when PHPBB changes again next week? The cycle continues on and on and on........

Michaelo I understand the rigors behind the scenes so I will be patient and hope for the best new final release it can be as you all hope the same upon release. You can't forget there are those people that want what they want when they want it and the hell with hurting anyones feelings or taking the time to understand what it takes for a skeleton crew who is working number one for FREE and number two when they have the time outside of their lives of being an actual person. Those folks can span off into the wonderment of the never ending universe for all I care. Keep up the great work and we know it will be the ultimate when it is released. Don't get pressured into a pre-release that will be buggy and get a bad name.

Tom_S many thanks for your understanding...

When will people understand you get more when you carry a smile than a club?

The real reason we haven't released 1.41 yet is to see what people will say and how we can be blamed. Hey! It's our new hobby! It's much more fun than puoring thru thousands of lines of code to find and fix problems!

Hehe... Seriously, we really are trying to get this out to you folks as best we can. But not as fast as we can. Because we want you to have the best out of the box.

Like Mike said... Thank you to those that are standing up for us, it makes this a little easier when we see your kind words.

Well, I've been around here (also Integramod1) and all I've seen were fantastic pieces of codingskills. Maybe the impatient ones should change their attitude in something like:
'The longer it takes, the better it will be'...

The RC5 is great and I've got it running on 2 clansites now (yea I know, stupid) but I haven't encountered major bugs wich hamper the functionality of the board.

2 words:
Nice work

Does this mean it is ready for wide-scale deployment, or is this just a way to placate us complainers? <img>
