Current users can't set required fields

Hello,

I did a search, but I did not seem to find anything that explains the exact problems I am having with my site. It appears that users who have not logged in since I went to IM 1.4.0 can not get past this screen.

Once you update the fields marked with *, you will be able to enjoy the whole site.

Click on the fieldnames below to complete them:
The Field "Security Answer" is required
The Field "Security Question" is required
The Field "Rules" is required
The Field "Real name" is required[/center:1ysg1c1e]

No matter what the user clicks on in this screen, they keep coming back to it. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to fix it?

In case you are wondering, the site is the Snow Tire FAQ Forum (http://www.snowtire.info/forum/). We get a lot fo seasonal visitors, and I tend to do upgrades "off season".

I made a quick patch, that will probably break something else, but it works for now.

In "includes/page_header.php" I commented out the lines for force_required as shown below

[code]if ( !defined('IN_PHPBB') ){     die("Hacking attempt");}  //if(!defined('HAS_DIED')){//   force_required();//}  // The New Gzip ]
