Index (Permissions) Help

was solved but this problem has come back
Hi Guys
I have come accross another problem with my index.
I have set all permissions to the index as Private (hidden)

Now when ur a vistor to the portal & click on forum
button u can gain access top the index & all of the posts.

I have doubled & trippled checked the permissions & configurations & still cant understand
why the index is not hidden to visitors.

Also is there a mod that can hide any links in posts to visitors.

im not sure this will work, but open your template/index.tpl

find

replace with

find

your a genius, this has worked splendidly
the actual file which needed editing was "index_body.tpl"
& not "index.tpl "

anyway your help has helped me out alot & ur advise did the trick..

Well recently i thought i was going loopy
as the help I received did work
until recently members were able to view the forum & search & downloads etc

I checked index_body.tpl & i may have messed it up

Please please can someone re-help me on this problem again

for your attention, well when u advised me to put the replacement code in before it did the trick
so when a guest visited the board and tried to access the index or the download button or seach button. they were acked to either login or register.

I have not changed anything recently in index_body.tpl. but I tested it recently as a guest.

This is what happens now, if the guest wanted to go to the index the get this following message "the board has no forums" instead of showing the login username & password box. if a guest now presses the buttons along the top of portal like search & download, they can now access this.

everything was fine when i inputted ur advice in index_body.tpl & worked wonders.

can you kindly check the code below for me in case you can actually see the prob for me. this would be very appreciated.
