Post what is the purpose of the premodded_files folder?

i just dont understand it
when i tried to upgrade my PHPBB
i tought that it holds the new files.

in the readme file at the 17 to 19 mod
it say, if your site is not moded, you can use the
premodded_files folder insead of changing each file

but in 19 to 20 i think its not like that

what is going on?????

If memory serves me right, both upgrades contain the premods, they're just worded differently. One folder may contain a folder entitled pre-mods, while the other contains a folder entitled index or portal, just a different title as all.

As for the purpose of the premods... If you have not modified your forum, you can just use the pre-mod files to overwrite your present files. It just makes the update faster and easier.

When they reference "if your site has not been modded" they are refering to extras modifications. Like the blog mod, advanced bbcode mod, etc. Basically if you have added anything like this you should probably leave the pre-mods alone and do a manual update.

Hope that helps.......

well, that part I'm not to sure of. This can be very confusing for new comers. I think it would be a good idea to edit the upgrade downloads to include an upgrade path, but that would be in the hands of the big dogs round' here :D

Careful w/that security update, if you enter the wrong information, you'll be trouble in the future. You'll know what I mean when you see it, the caution is included in the update.

Goodluck.............

so everybody will know
we dont running around for an endless information
it is just impossible
we love you very much, and we appreciate all the effort
but please centerlize all the information in one place
