This tutorial shows you how to display a poll you have generated on the portal home page

Go to ACP > IM Portal > Portal Configuration
edit the "Poll Forum ID(s)" setting.
This is a list of forum id's where the polls come from...
If a poll is created in those forums, the newest poll will display in the block...

As you won't want every user's poll on your portal page, I recommend:
* create a seperate forum
* set the permissions: only the admin has access to post topics and create polls. You can read, reply and vote to REG users.
* browse to the forum and get it's forum id: when you browse the forum the link will be something like this: "/viewforum.php?f=7". The forum ID is the number after the "f="
* Go top the ACP > IM Portal > Portal Configuration and set the "Poll Forum ID(s)" equal to the forum id (7 in the example above)
