ok..


i created a usergroup and private forum ..
but.. problem is .. that admins see that forum even they are not in that group
i go to acp and i was menaging admin but there si only option alowe acces..
i cant put disallow acces ...


can someone help me with this probl..

I dont think that you can do this and for a very good reason. I stand to be corrected if Im wrong.

For 1 you as an admin want rights to EVERYTHING on your boards for your safety and freedom. What would you do if you allow someone to have private forums or photo galleries and they were performing illegal activities via your website such as Illegal kiddie stuff or illegal warez? You are legally responsible for that and could risk your freedom by allowing such activity to take place. In no way shape or form would I ever allow and admin to be locked out of anything on my site EXCEPT my phpBB Security settings page.

For 2 Afterall, they are an admin for a reason. To administer and over see.

Be smart and dont ever block and admin from anything EXCEPT, your phpBB security page so you personally can never be locked out of admin. This is the only place you are allowed to pick which admins can see the particular page. Blocking a admin from usergroups or forums would be a MAJOR disaster waiting to happen. trust is a good thing, but your freedom is even a more precious thing.

If I have stepped out of line, please accept my apologies. This is just my 2 cents worth. I dont speak for anyone else, but anyone else with any amount of common sence (no offense), Im just saying that in general not towards you, will 100% agree with me. And I believe this is why the authors of the mods and phpBB have made it this way.

There is a way to do this, but you will have to demote them from admin and make them to be "Junior Admin."

Junior Admins can have most of the same abilities as a regular admin, but they don't have global permissions like admins do. You can also pick and choose what areas of the admin panel you want your junior admins to be able to see.

If this sounds like a good idea to you, let me know and I will explain in further detail how you can do this.

Yeah I had thought of that as well after I had posted. Good point, but i was thinking more along the lines of he didnt want himself as an admin to be able to see a forum or usergroup and that is dangerous to say the least. If it is another admin besides board founder then by all means I can most definately see that working for him for sure.

I meant to come back earlier and post about that as well, but my pipes froze in my house and been dealing with that. fun fun. take care.

No biggie MWE, and coming from your original perspective I can understand why you felt the way you did.

But I think he's probably referring to other admins on the board besides himself. This I can understand, because I have 4 admins on my forums, and I could imagine there being a situations where the board founder wouldn't want the other admins to be able to see a certain forum.

About your pipes freezing, well I just live one state over from you (In Iowa) and it's pretty darn cold here too. Wind chill of -30 degrees fahrenheit right now. I've got my car parked in the garage with a heater running to melt off all the ice and stuff. hah!

the thing is ..
bout admins pay hosting..
but i'm founder and i have all rights....
so i play ogame and i was put a private forum ogame for my crew, but other admin complaying that he see that forum and that confuse him because he dont play ogame... so i wanted to disalow him to see that forum ..
but the thing is if i give him permission like junior admin he will be mad on me , reason - we thogeter pay hostnig, and he will probably say, why will i have a bigger right of him haha

Well, someone can take a stab at this one if they want to but to leave the "Other" admin as admin, I dont believe there is any way to do that. Short of the special config page in Security. Jr Admin is the only way to go as Zacfields has suggested.
