Well just had this pointed out to me. Dont know if this is just a prob on my end or something else.

Any new users who register on my site can see all forums that are admin only forums. This is only with people who have registered since I upgraded. All previous users are still not able to see them.

I tried resetting the forum permissions and also resynced the forums and still the new member can see the forums. I registered myself as a new user and I am seeing all the threads.

Also it seems that new members are not able to upload an avatar or signature even though these options are turned on in:
ACP/GENERALADMIN/CONFIGURATION
although it is turned on here a new user is set to off by default and it has to be enabled by an admin.



Where should I start looking. I have absolutely no clue and really need to solve this issue asap.

Update. I have even tried to create a new forum and teh same problems. Anyone who has registered since the update can see all. But previous members cant.

still workin on this prob. Just have some more info. Seems that after a certain amount of time, new users lose the ability to see the [hidden] forums. So could it maybe be a db issue?

try re-uploading a new includes/def_auth.php. Backup your old one though

tried that made sure it as chmodded right and still no luck. thanks for trying though.

Well I have narrowed this down to a time issue. It seems to take almost exactly 48 hours for the permissions to take effect on new users. Almost to the minute. Is anyone else having this problem?

Well I have also discovered that at the bottom of the forum were it says users in last 24 hours it is at 48 hours also

I have a similar problem with my new site http://www.baeronium.com . I set forums to registered but guests can still post!
Chmod of the includes/def_*.php is 666.
