How do you make the bots show up in the who is online block and the registered people in the last 24 hours thing?

I did a search on this site on forums and KB but couldn't find anything...
(p.s. I HATE the search function on all phpbb because I have NEVER found anything I was looking for ) ((p.s.s if anyone has any "techniques" for finding stuff using it I would LOVE to hear em...[/annoyed] lol))

Anyways while I'm asking about this I also would like to know if anyone has that mod that has the google ads post in between user's posts installed and working for im141 and if so where did you get it?

I think maybe they show up after so much time or something, but I'll find out and let everyone know.

The bots (if you're talking about search engine spiders) always do show up in my "who is online" area. As for like... spam bots? You shouldn't be having that problem if you're running 1.4.1 the new captcha definitely keeps that crap out. Once I upgraded to 1.4.1 that was the last of the spam bots, and I used to have an average of one registration every 2 hours (yes, 12 per day) for the entire month before I upgraded.

As for the search function, the magic word is "and." Like, if you're wanting a post about how to upgrade to IM from phpbb, you could type "upgrade and phpbb" and you'll get 171 results because its showing all the topics that have both upgrade and phpbb within them.

If you just typed "upgrade phpbb" would would get well over 1,000 results because it's then searching for all the topics that have EITHER upgrade or phpbb in them, which will make finding anything useful very difficult like finding a needle in a haystack.

Hope that helps some... but about the bots thing, yeah the spiders always show up on mine.

Also, about the inline banner mod that you're referring to, I would also like to see that mod ported to IM.

Once we get it ported (I may tinker with it myself if I can find some darned free time) I will definitely be pushing to have it eventually added to a future release of IM because its a mod that can be shut off via the admin panel, but it seems that anyone who has any sort of advertisement desperately wants this mod to work with IM (including me).

Also I think I misunderstood your first post... you mean like googlebot would show up on the "who is online" on the index as "GoogleBot" username, right? I was referring to them showing up as "Guest" in the admin panel.

Yes I mean the actual name of the bot from the acp, like you said "Googlebot" "Msnbot" etc, I know that the mod used is supposed to show the bots and their names in all the online spots, but for some reason on integramod it doesnt

I remember dealing with this with 140 but I think I eventually came to the conclusion that eventually they would start showing up. But, like always I cant remember

And hopefully without having to go into ACP and adding all those damned bots as I've got thousands of them!

Well.. I unfortunately figured out why they don't show up...

The version of the mod we have is outdated, there have been two other authors pick the mod up and continue it, but with edits done to integramod some of the required code changes are impossible because the required code changes have been commented out.

I did find the updated mod and am currently trying to tweak it to work anyway, I ran into a few problems but I think it might work, I have to wait for a bot to come along again

Well done Frost as least it is looking like you are making some progress.

It does make one wonder how many of the other Mods in IM are now old and out of date....

Well like I said I'm not even sure this is the same mod because so many people have picked it up and redone it.

Also, I'm sure Integramod is as up-to-date with the mods as far as compatibility is concerned, look what happened when I tried to update one lol

I'm pretty sure it is the same Mod, or is what the Mod has evolved into.

But as you say updating a Mod in such a complex system as IM is sure not easy!

I don't care what it takes I will make it work lol, I've already wasted too much time on it to forget about it now lol

If / When you do get it working do you think Teelk will be able to incorporate it into the bug fix update?

Well it's not really a bug because it's just an updated version that isn't compatible with what they chose to use in IntegraMod

Secondly I've never seen anything that Teelk couldn't do since I've been here lol

But once I get it to work I will offer it here to be looked over and once it's done and stable, they can put it for download or even upgrade the package, that's up to them, either way it will be available from my site when it's done.

all the mods that are still supported were updated for ver 141. Many Integra mods were custom built for us by masterdavid and past members. The only mod im aware of that was not updated by choice is CH. The current version leaves little left of core phpbb file which would render most of our mods useless, including PCP

yea, I don't know what the hell he was thinking branching off like that on CH, and continuing to make a mod that nobody wants to use because they cant use virtually 80% of the mods with.

Kind of a waste of time to me, I do have a test board running his latest 2.1.6 CH, with im portal 120. extreme styles, AGCM 1.2.5, and others on working together right now, I just tweak the mods one by one till they work, eventually it might be cool, but even with it now, there is no chance for it ever to be worth having lol
