Memberlist sort by posts bug?

What was done before the problem appeared?
It has always been there!
What was done to try to solve the problem?
checked MYSQL and pcp, both show field as medium integer!

Have had a small but annoying problem with our memberlist sorting ever since we originally installed integramod 1.32 ages ago.
We are now up to 1.41, but it is still the same.
If a user sorts the memberlist by posts it does not sort numerically, it sorts as if it is a varchar field.
For example if they sort in decending order they might see:
user on 993 posts
user on 98
user on 976
user on 87
and so on.
However if I order the list when logged in as admin, it sorts correctly.
I've looked at the field in MySQL and in the PCP and in both cases it is set as an integer and I can see nothing in the memberlist.php code that would cause this...?
I'm really confused!
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
