Is there any way to brake the text in the front page in the news ?

Meaning ... In the front page i have a whoooooole text with the news i submitted...i don`t want this..i want to see 3-4 lines about the news and to push the button read more to read the rest of the subject...is this possible ?

there is an bug in this i think. I have my trim setting to 400. but the link to read the rest of the topic takes you to the forum, not to the topic.
