I'm trying to get my donation/paypal buttons to work. I'm not sure what all the options are and what to fill in the text to get the donations and paypal buttons to work.

Any suggestions?

If your talking about the Donate in the Board Navigation menu, you have to set it up.

Goto ACP>General Admin>Configuration

Put your paypal account email is the following 3 lines at the bottom of the page:

PayPal IPN Settings> Your PayPal account to receive payment from members:
Donation Settings> Your personal account in PayPal:
Donation Settings> Your premier/business account in PayPal:

You are now able to receive donations through the Donate feature.

If your going to use the New Donations block, note that the security in the site IP bans paypal's IP when paypal returns the results of the donation.

Solution: (I haven't tested which setting works yet)

ACP>Security>Special

Paypal gets IP banned for DDos attempt.
So with DDoS Protection Level: set to strong, Paypal will get banned.
Try it on Medium and test - if still bans, reduce to low.
It does work when setting to Ignore DDos attempts but I was told not to turn off security, so I haven't got around to testing it yet.

You may also have to goto

ACP>User Admin>Ban Control

And remove the banned IP for paypal - there will probably only be one IP and that is probably PayPal's.
If there is no IP's listed, Paypal hasn't been banned yet. You'll have to make a donation to test if everything works.
