Can a site be moved to a new host or is it too hard.
I have skill with this so not sure if it's possible, or better to start over.
Also wanted to know if anyone knows of a good cart program to use.
Esecially for me being in Canada.

first of all use a ftp program and copy everything from you site to a folder in your computer. the go in phpmyadmin and back up your db to a file in your computer. make sure you write down all the db user name and password info.
then you can transfer you account to someone else. Some host will copy everything for you, but if they don't that's what the above instruction are for.
When you transfer your domain name and get your account setup if they don't copy the files and DB for you you just upload your files and recreate your DB and copy the info in.

LOL - more than I could handle.
I'll have to see if my host will take care of it.

are you changing domain names or just servers/hosting?

Changing servers/hosts. With jatol.com. I have another site with them and they gave us 1500MB storage. When I opened another site with them, they dropped the storage down to 200MB. E-tegra 141 and database ate up most of that and now I'm 92% full. I have now gone to canaca.com and they offered me 1500GB storage. By my math thats 7500% more space for a little more than I was paying.
I want to move everything over to my new host.

not a huge deal really... nothing to change just pick up your files and go.
hard part is the database, only because you have to back it up and restore it.
I would grab a backup from jatol (maybe a sql dump from phpmyadmin) and then use bigdump to get it over to canaca
just create the database, username and pass, make it same as on jatol and thre you go...
or when in doubt ask a friend
offer pizza and beer

Take all day at this rate. I tried uploading it as a .rar file and extracting in file manager, but won't extract.
Do it the long way.

Ok I actually transferred it myself.
Only problem now is when I try to go to the admin screen and have to login again, it kicks me back to my old site.
Is there some setting I need to update.
I haven't got my domain transferred yet.

KEWL...
it'll do that until you transfer the domain
because it does everything relative to the domain name and path you set in the setup
