What was done before the problem appeared?
News Block Was Inactive - I made it active.

What was done to try to solve the problem?
I tried different layouts

De.scription and Message

Everything looks fine until I turn on the news block. When I do that, all the headers shift to the center and the center blocks move to the left. *sigh*

What alignment did you set for the news block? Was it set to center? Is it possible for you to enable the news block, even though it's messed up, so we can look at the resulting portal?

Unrelated to question...

This image might make your header look cleaner... maybe.

i set it as a center block. when it's active, the blocks on the left move to the center and then "mission" block and the news block move beneath the navigation block.

FIND (at the very beginning):

I took the image next to it and sliced a 1x49 sliver out and saved it as a jpg.

I noticed your news_common was viewable while mine showed a Hacking attempt (when viewed directly with a browser) so I compared yours and mine... it didn't take long to notice yours didn't have the php at the beginning. I then googled and found someone with an identical problem on another premodded phpbb project and it mentioned that adding the php fixed the 'crazy code showing' error too.

Your site is looking pretty good. It has a sideways scroll on my 1024 pixel wide home display. Does your left column need to be that wide? What do you have it set at? Would it be the 'Alum Springs Database' in the search block that's widening the column? It shouldn't have a sideways scroll at 1024 wide I wouldn't think.

thank you and i like yours as well! in case you haven't noticed i have a fondness of blue. lol....you know I can't figure out why i'm getting that scroll either. i use the same resolution as you are using. i wouldn't think so either unless maybe it's the bluefoil.jpg background i'm using? no more that it is tho, i reckon i can live with it.
