The clue here is "not allowed to access ... owned by uid 48 " - the cache directory itself should be chmod 777 according to the original install instructions.

The forum/stats_mod/includes/template.php will then create new folders under this folder and store it's cache files there, and chmod each folder and file as it creates it. It can only do this if it has permissions to do so.

Via your ftp client, browse to /forum/modules/cache and see if there are any sub-folders in there (/explain is a default folder). If there are not, chmod the cache folder to 777 which should resolve your problem. If your ftp client doesn't have chmod ability (most do), you can run the following .script under php.exe on your local machine after editing it with your own ftp login, pass, site, etc.[code]  (opening php tag here)function chmod_open(){     // Use your own FTP info     $ftp_user_name = <a href="mailto]Hope that helps!

do you have safe mode on you can check in admin control pannel / tools.
They just posted about it and globals in another tread. It's control is in php.ini

which I'm not sure how to access, I don't seem to have access on mine.

All the chmods have been done. So that isn't the problem. But my database is set on safe mode and that's something that my host is going to have to change i think....

I did a little googling and found this:

Q: I get errors involving "SAFE MODE Restriction in effect." What is going on?
A: SAFE MODE is not a full running mode of PHP. The server needs to be running in normal mode. If you are paying for hosting, get the service provider to fix this.

But I also found this about using your .htaccess to turn off safe mode locally:

(Basically, the page says to create a text file named .htaccess (or add a line to your existing one) and have this line in it.

Upload .htaccess file to your root directory.

I'd request my provider to disable safe mode and if they refused I'd try to get around it. If I couldn't I'd raise hell and then look for another provider.

okay, i tried that and it didn't work....and yes, i am paying for hosting and i told my provider about it....he told me that it was chmod issue....so that's why i came here to ask about it....i had this issue once before with another provider and so i was pretty sure this was the reply i was going to get from ya'll here....but when i brought it up to him (my provider is a friend of mine....*sigh*) he said the chmod thing....soooooooo....now i've told him that it's on his end and he's going to have to fix it....we'll see what happens....at any rate, thank you all very much.... <img>

I can vouch for that as well. If the safe mode is turned on, then it needs to be fixed in the ini folder on the server in order for your statistics to display properly. I had the very same issue and it was resolved with a .ini file editing <img>

hmmm....when i go into ACP to look at the PHP Info under Tools....Nothing comes up...It's just a blank page....Anyone know how I correct this?
