ok, 3 times today, i get a cpu usage screen from my domain... it says:

If you are the webmaster, your account may have gotten this error for one or more of the following reasons:
Your account has used more than its share of the cpu in the past 60 second sliding window.
Your account has too many concurrent processes running simultanously.
Your account has consumed too much memory.
Your site was recently very busy trying to run inefficient .scripts.
The solution would be to optimize your applications to use less CPU.
Adding appropriate indeces to your SQL tables can often help reduce CPU.
Using static .html documents instead of painful .php .scripts will practically eliminate CPU usage.

Is there something i can do to check what may be killing my CPU??? I don't have many concurrent users (about 10, nothing horrible), what could be killing it??

I saw nothing out of the ordinary on your site except a 3.8 MB video that downloads automatically on your portal. I don't know if that would cause that or not.

apparently, there is a .script that is taking 13 seconds to access the database... if i turned on debugging, will it show me what's being accessed when my cpu usage tanks out?

I had the same problem on another site, not using integramod.
My site manager was crapping out - may of been a corrupt file. It was totally draining the resources and eventually my host suspended my site for overloading.

I had to do a fresh install because i didn't know how to track down which file was screwed.

I think your having the same problem. Do you have something on your page that takes forever to load?

Our aaquacks.com site had an issue like this too with a block we installed using a ventrilo monitor. The block took a very long time to load and eventually came up page cannot be displayed inside the block. When I turned off the block, the problem went away and page loads were alot quicker.

Do you have any banners from other sites?

We have auctionads on one of our sites and some days, it takes a long time to retrieve and load the banners.

no, i disabled all the banners, the only one is my header, and one i made via a portal block, but i made that myself as well.

So am I to understand that debugging doesn't make a log so I can see what the last thing was that happened before it spikes the CPU??

what's the point in HAVING debug if you can't use it to debug???

it SEEMS it may be the search function killing the site... i looked at my cpu usage log from my domain peeps...here is a sample for today... each time it spikes it's doing a database query... is that caused by indexing, maybe?

upgrading the rebuild search function seemed to help a bit.

but it's still happening... i get page cannot be found when trying to view topic... i tried overwriting view topic, thinking it could be corrupted, but it's still happening

what else can i try??

you might try talking to your host to see if they have recently updated your php, apache, or mysql versions

all of these are the correct specs for 141, right?

yes, those should are fine. IM will run on most combinations, but problems can arise occasionally when they are changed after IM is installed

you know what? now that i'm thinking about it, about a month ago, they said they were doing working on the sql server... i'm not sure what it was, but ever since then, i've been having the spikes... if they did upgrade, what do i have to do to correct it? reinstall??

It looks like you went ahead and wiped your site or it's down at the moment. But, what it looks like from those logs is that the problem lies with viewtopic... have you added any MODs that add anything to the viewtopic profile that may make a lot of sql queries?

If your a firefox user you can get the firebug add on, using the "net" tab it times everything and shows you in real time as your using the page.

A really handy tool for a lot other little jobs too. <img>

i reinstalled integramod and all the mods and it appears to be flying again.

i have a sneaky suspision that it has something to do with the sql server maintenanace my domain czars did... because it all started then, but it appears to be cookin with gas now <img>
