What was done before the problem appeared?
I made the sevear mistake of installing the Advanced Group Color Management Mod for Integramod 141 and after figuring out that it does not work without causeing errors on the site I uninstalled it but even after uninstalling it I still had the "username_color_" errors showing up on the site in place of the moderators name so I tried just reuploading the backup files which I backed up before installing this mod and now when I go to the sit it wants to re-install Integramod.


What was done to try to solve the problem?
I went ahead and set up a new database to try the re-install but it won't work.

My original database is still in tact but something is telling the browser to try to install now so what do I need to fix.

My experience level borders between beginner and Basic Knowledge.

Note: that I did change the CHMOD to 666 for config.php and for phpp_security.php before I tried to re-install the .script.

make sure that your config.php includes your database info. If it does, set your chmod for it to 644. You only need it to be 666 during install so your forum install .script may write to it. The most common cause of the problem your describing is an empty config.php file. if you have overwritten yours with a blank one, do not dispair. You may fill it in manually in this format

If you did not install Prillian, you can delete the entire define PRILLIAN line

if you changed the table prefix when you installed, to something other than phpbb_ , you need to update that line. You will see your table prefix when you look at your database in phpmyadmin

This is exactly what my config file looks like but when I go to the site at [url=http]http://abba-father.org[/url] it imediately changes over to install/install.php instead of my web site which would be the portal.php. Since I don't have the install file on the server it goes to a 404 page.

Something on the site is telling the browser to load the install files.

I just re-installed the site files again and I still come up with the same problem. Do you know what file(s) I would look at that would be telling it to load the install files instead of the index or portal file.

Yea I thought of that but I deleted the install folder a long time ago and it still goes to install/install.php which is not there so I get a 404 page.

Could this line be the problem

No that's not the problem as I just now removed it from the file and it didn't change anything.


hmmmmmmm I guess I need to just delete all of the files and to a fresh install and restore the sql database from before then just reconfigure everything.

Live and learn I guess.

Yes I did yesterday when I installed this mod but I un-installed it today because of the problems it caused with the username_color issue. Even with the fixes I found here in the forum it still wouldn't work so I un-installed it today but I was still having the error "username_color" show up in the forum in place of the name of my moderator, thoe the color was gone, so I set about to try to see if there was a file which I had not un-installed the mod from but could not find any so in order to try to fix the problem, and perhaps I just missed one of the moded files, I just re-upload the files which I had backed up before I did the install and that is when this problem started. I do not want to reinstall the same mod that caused this problem. The only thing I did not reinstall is the database from before the install.

I figured that if I used the un-install file which came with the mod then it would just remove what the mod's install file placed in the db. Am I correct or do I need to delete the db and re-upload the backed up one?

Not since I installed this mod. I try to test each mod out to make sure that they are not going to cause any problems before installing any more and besides that is what is nice about IntegraMod it is already extensively moded so I don't need to ad many mods to it.

if not, you should safely be able to re-upload the includes folder, except for
the def_*.php files and phpbb_security.php
you can also re-upload the entire profilcp folder. Im note sure which file has the hook so rename your existing folders and reupload the two i just mentioned, then move the def_*.php files and phpbb_security.php to your new includes folder.

Here is a list of the only mods I have installed on Integramod before I tried installing the "Advanced Group Color Management" mod.

Admin Links, Advanced Site Map Hack, Contact Form, Dead Link Checker - which seems useless, External Links, ForumSpy, Highlight Search Text with Background Color, Host and IP on Index, IMPortal & IntergraMOD Random Wisdom Block - which I made from altering the Quotes Mod with the same name but with wisdom, IMPortal Random Quotes Block, Live Time, Select and Copy Text Hack, Welcome Panel On Index, youtube bbcode and those are the only ones.

Ok I will do this and see what happens.

well I would assume this ACGM hook would be in includes/common.php, or includes/functions.php. I will dl it and see if I can find which file you may have left behind, but ill have to do it in the morning cause its 12:20 here now and my mind has already gone to sleep...lol

Ok that sound good to me. I was just fixin' ta go towards bed, too, when I heard my emil chime up and I thought I would check just in case it was your response to my issue.

I just want you and all of the IntegraMOD team to know how much I enjoy using this software and it's like my baby is ill when something happens to it even tho I have only been using it for the last 2 weeks. I already like phpbb and y'all just make it even better.

No that didn't do anything as I just got through doing it and the browser still tries to load the install/install.php which gets a 404 error page. <img>

Before I installed this mod I backed up my old files and saved them just in case something like this happened. I ain't figured out why yet but when I uploaded these same back up files to the server to overwrite the changed files they did not change the files on the server. It's like they never overwrote the changed files.

Instead of trying to do this all over again, fearing the same outcome, I decided that I would look at my second backup system which I also did as I altered the individual files which was to rename the files by placing Temp_ in front of the old name and then I copied the contents of the file I renamed and created a new file with the original name and I altered it with this mod.

When I was looking at these Temp_ files I decided to do a side by side and line by line comparison with my EditPadLite text editor because it has tabs and I can just switch between the two file and low and behold I found that the mod changes were still in the file so I just copied the contents from the files I renamed Temp_ over the file on the server and after I went through each and every folder on the site looking for these Temp_ files and altering the main file(s) I went back to the site and it all loads up like it is supposed to.

I went through looking for any errors and so far I have not found any.

G*d that's a load off of my mind. I got a feelin' that I will sleep more than 3.5 hours tonight. That's all I got last night, what with all of the stress from this. LOL

Thanks for all of your help HelterSkelter. If it is possible I will return the favor to ya some day although I don't think I am smart enough to help ya much when it comes to .php at least. LOL
