i keep getting this error on installing on my localhost.

ask your host if they have PHP running as CGI/phpsuexec , or as an apache module

Normal server setup runs php as an Apache module. In this case check your file permissions on the folder root/backup It should be set to 777

If your running phpphp suexec as a CGI Module, then all folders should be set to 755.
Since they all default to 755 when uploaded to your server, you would only need to reset any that you set to 777 at the time of install.

You may need to contact your host to determine your setup

Keep also in mind that some hosts disable commands required by this mod, so it is not sure you can use this functionality.

In my case, it is just not working with the hosting I have. On the other hand, some hosts provide automatic backup of databases, so you might just not need this option...

Had this same problem.

Need to disable Strict Mode in your MySQL, either by re-installing or comment the line out of the my.ini
